pickleball:

clearly i made the reference to pickleball to demonstrate the fact that i don't have a problem with pwning nublets. my daddy beat me me hundreds of times at chess before i finally beat him and that made me beating him all the better. if you can't take the heat, stay outta houston.

besides that, we're keeping track of stats so why win 9-0 in 9 innings when you can win 10-0 in 7?

I think we played that once in gym class when I was in junior high.

I'm pretty good at racket sports, so it was pretty enjoyable.

It's like novelty sized ping pong paddles with wiffle balls (if memory serves)

Im pretty sure that pickleball refers to mizzou/gary pinkel....well at least according to gerlost.

grandpa did the exact opposite in the movie Jack the Bear, and you know what the result was?  Jack hated his grandpa and loved his dad (Danny Devito), even though he was an alcoholic and allowed Jack's little brother to be molested by Gary Sinise.  The reason why Jack loved his Dad?  "Dad would let me win"

in terms of owner talent, this is where the league is at in my estimation

1st tier: hou

2nd tier: det, nym, sf

3rd tier: stl

4th tier: bos, cal, min

These results are just mind boggling....   I know I've played about 20 games of curve in my life, but give me Boston against Houston in a best-of-nine series and I guarantee that I'll win five.  I'd bet my website, domain, database, keys to my car etc.  Even JoeDirt, who CLEARLY outclassed me when we played in columbus, wouldn't render me winless with Boston...

Please keep it up guys with all the games, but my mind is blown...

sounds like gantry and the express are gonna race for pinks!

After being beat by Houston 10-0 in the season opener, I worked on my S pitch and won 4-0 in the 2nd league game.  Houston was held to 3 hits by Krukow and Rueschel but they still remain the best team in RBI, and now are 3rd in the league.

We have two complicated scenarios that could happen.  Chances are they won't, but what would happen in the instance of these two?  Try to follow along:

Scenario #1

1. Houston/New York split
2. Detroit sweeps New York
3. San Fran beats New York
4. San Fran beats Detroit

Meaning that the standings would look like this:

1.  Houston (10-4)
1.  Detroit (10-4)
1.  San Francisco (10-4)

Detroit holds tiebreak over Houston.   Everybody else split season games.  What do we do?

-Detroit gets 1st seed.  Houston and San Francisco play for 2nd?
-San Francisco and Detroit play for first seed.  Houston automatically gets 3rd?
-Round Robin play Detoit loses to Houston and San Fran and his 2 wins vs. Houston meant nothing?
-3 way head-to-head records compared:  1.  Detroit (3-1) 2.  San Fran (2-2) 3.  Houston (1-3)

I'll post the second scenario if anybody is interesting in solving this one.

The Express

the site will be updated tonight by 1:00am pacific

San Francisco gets the first seed because they beat Detroit.  Detroit is #2 as they have the tiebreak over Houston.

Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong but it seems pretty simple.

I guess I forgot to explain our system:

- 8 teams
- 14 game season (everybody plays each other twice home/away)
- Top 6 teams go to playoffs
- Top 2 teams get first round bye
- Seeding decided by tiebreak (you could of split 1-1, or swept 2-0)

site updated... what's keeping things close is the following:

hou vs det (0-2)
hou vs stl (2-0)
stl vs det (2-0)

the three of us picked up 2 losses to each other opening the door for the mets who so far have only gone 2-1 against serious competition. i don't think that san fran has a serious chance at a #1 or #2 seed but if they win out things could get interesting.
