So the Simple Audio Video Embedder plugin doesn't support yet but here's a trick for gifv files:

If you change the suffix/extension from .gifv to .jpg it displays nicely when enclosed within [img] tags

They are direct links so the forums has no part in loading the gif.  So you have crummy internet that hates imgur, sucks to be you
