Title: Fantasy RBI Arcade Game thread. Rebooted from 2018
Post by: Darky on 09/20/18, 06:18:17 PM
Teams:

The Empire (Darkside)
Swinging Dicks (Ryno)
The SIDES OF BEEF (BeefMaster)
U7 (Ultimate7)
Montreal Expose (Shooty)
Purple Reign (Nacho)
baja california blue footed boobies (Nomaaa)
Cleveland Spiders (fightonusc)
The Hulk Hogans (GDavis)
Steely Dan's Revenge (Tempo)

Season Rules:

- 18-game season, home and away.
- 13-run mercy rule.

-The baseline for errors will be at 5 and will change from week-to-week at Lord Vader's discretion or by lottery.
- Various glitches will be resolved by an Imperial operator with pressing the A or B or arrows on the keyboard. No joystick will be used during game recordings. A common glitch is when the baserunner freezes in-between second and third. -
- Another common glitch is when the RF or LF mysteriously loses a ball in the sun near the wall and fails to make the catch. This is part of the game if you do not know this already.

Pitching:

- SP-SP-RP-RP
- No SP may start in consecutive games, and no RP may start a game
- The SP who does not start shall be slotted in the #2 slot in relief
- RP may be used in any order after the #2 slot

Position players:

- 3 OF (LF/CF/RF), 4 INF (C/1b/2b/3b/ss) must start the game.

Trades: Trades will be available for weeks 4-14. Power deficits will be strongly weighed while speed deficits won't carry the same weight, but will be considered. Anything not covered in the trade rules does not imply you may trade as you wish. All powers are granted in Lord Vader's discretion, but Lord Vader will openly hear pleas.

Playoffs:

- The top 5 teams earn an automatic bid.
- The 8th and 7th place teams shall play a one-game wildcard playoff in order to play another one-game playoff against the 6th place team. The pitching rotations continues from the last week of the season.
- The winner of the wildcard playoff will play the 6th place team in a one-game playoff/play-in to earn the 6th seed in the FRBI Arcade playoffs. The pitching rotation for the winner of the wildcard playoff will continue from the previous wildcard game. The 6th place team may choose who to start.
- The top two teams shall earn a bye and automatically advance to the semifinals.
- The rest of the numbered seeds will play a 5-game playoff to earn a birth for the semifinals.
- The semifinals will be a 7 game series.
- The FRBI Aracade World Series will be a 7-game series.
- All errors in the playoffs will be determined by lottery, from 4 to 9.
- Higher seeded team has the option to choose to play home or away for the series and play-in.

Tiebreaker rules for placement in the standings:

- Head-to-head
- Run differential
- Runs allowed.

I like the double play-in set up.

I did not know about those 2 glitches, but it's been a while since I've participated in FRBI.

Are we still doing "do overs'' if either the Empire or Dicks are behind after 4 innings?   In non head to head games, of course.

The double play-in is used in the Swedish baseball league to get in the top league, but not the playoffs. The OF mysteriously not making the catch on a fly ball near the wall should happen at least once this season. Unlikely the runner will decided to freeze in-between second and third. There was an odd glitch that I saw in the preseason Classic tournament, and that was the only time I had ever seen it - so doubt we'll see it again unless somebody wants to watch a thousand games. haha @ the do overs!

Oh yeah, the mercy rule is set at 18. I'll add that in the opening post.

I'm going to have to change my lineup for next game.  I can't have Maranville leading off if he's going to hit like that.

Last work shift before my almost 2 month vacation. Also, I purchased a smartphone which implies I can use a scoresheet/boxscore app on it - easy sailing. Got the phone yesterday. So pretty soon, we gonna blitz through. I go up to Stockholm on Wednesday then off to Vegas on Thursday. So no action on those days and Friday. No worries folks.

Schedule updated in the opening post, along with all the rules.

The reboot happens tomorrow, so take a look at your lineups. Also, the quality of the recordings is much better now that I just record from the windows thing on the Virtual NES - so no more cameras and clicking noises and bad quality. I'll try and speed up the schedule so the season goes faster. 18-game schedule and everybody plays each other twice - no divisions.

You need to have a discussion with your 3rd base coach! Last out at home by a mile and killed a comeback rally, c'mon man!

Every single break, and there were a lot of them, went in Ultimate's favor every.single.time. Frustrating to watch, but we made it close despite all the bad breaks. Oh well, it's a long season and we'll get the breaks sooner or later.

This W.Ford is a weapon on the bump. Shooty's Expose has some sticks, so it was surprising to see them have an off game like that. M.Scott wasn't to shabby either. GDavis starting rotation looks strong unless that game was an exception. But W.Ford had been pitching really well in the Super League.

Anyways, boxscores and recaps will come tomorrow - didn't have time today. The latest week 2 happens is Sunday, but if I can get the boxscores done in time tomorrow, we'll do week 2. I'll input the player averages, homeruns, and ERA in the ROM after the 3rd or 4th week. I will keep stats and post them, so no worries. We can rush through the league without stats, but that is not fun. I want narratives built and the stats help build a good storyline!

The Empire (0-1) at Ultimate 7 (1-0)

Ultimate 7 used solid pitching and 7 homeruns to coast to a 20-15 victory over the Empire at Frisbee Stadium.

Bob Horner blasted 3 HRs and drove in 4 runners to earn player of the game - he was 4/6 at the plate. Willy Mays went 5/6 and nobody in the lineup had a bad day at the plate. Ultimate 7 's starting pitching rotation went the distance behind strong outings by P.Niekro and Catfish Hunter. The Ultimate 7's were never really threatened and when they were, they put a comfortable distance to cruise to a commanding victory.

The Empire committed 5 errors and Hank Aaron went only 1-6 on the day while Hack Wilson, the most feared hitter in the history of RBI, didn't go deep but did manage 5 hits and only 2 RBI. The Empire also shot themselves in the foot with two X outs at third base with two slow runners with a speed of 120 were hosed down trying to go from 1st to 3rd. Normally the Empire has good team speed, but this team lacks it.

Sides of Beef (1-0) at Cleveland Spiders (0-1)

With Gantry in attendance to support D.Thon, D.Thon went on to go 5/6 while blasting a 3-run shot, hammering two 2B with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.

After the top half of the 7th inning and the Beef Masters up 18-8, the game appeared out of reach for Fighton's Spiders. However, a 7-run surge on the back of 5 HR's cut the lead 18-15 in Beef's favor. The Spiders inched closer in the 8th to cut the deficit 19-18, but the Beef Masters got a clutch insurance RBI double by Thon which led to a 3-run inning making it 22-18. The Spiders mildly threatened with one run scored in the 9th, but a rally killing putout at home plate for the final out ended the potential comeback. Mickey Cochrane foolishly tried to advance to home on a L.Grove double despite the 3rd base coach trying to emphatically hold him up.

Fighton's Cleveland Spiders outhomered the Beef Masters, 11-6, but 6 of the homeruns were solo shots. 5 players for the Spiders hit a pair of homeruns each (B.Bonds, B.Ruth, Foster, Durham, Doerr).

Beef got excellent production from all his pitchers in the 9-hole. M.Soto, Tiant, and Burdet combined to go 5/7 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.

Swinging Dicks (0-1) at Blue Footed Boobies (1-0)

nomaaa's Blue Footed Boobies treated the home crowd to a thrilling come-from-behind win to open the season. Down 12-5 in the 6th inning, the Blue Foots top of the order quickly scored 4 runs and knocked Roger Clemons out of the game with Ryno's Swinging Dicks hanging on to a 12-9 lead. The Blue Foots tied the contest at 12 in the 8th inning with the help of a Johny Bench towering blast into the starlit sky. The Swinging Dicks scored an unearned run to give them a slim lead going into the last half of the 9th.

Lee Smith was given the ball to close out the 9th for the Swinging Dicks with a confident looking Ryno looking on in his popular vest. 4 straight hits later and no outs recorded, the game was over as the Blue Foots scored 2 runs. Frank Robinson knocked in the game winning run.

The heroes of the game was the bullpen for Blue Footed Boobies. Vida Blue, Fernandomania, and Dizzy Dean gave up 0 earned runs in their 5 innings of combined relief. Vida Blue gave up only 3 hits in his 3 innings of long relief. Fernandomania got a key strikeout and gave up only 1 hit in his inning of relief, and Dizzy Dean got Joe Dimaggio and Mark McGwire out with runners in scoring position to end the inning of solid relief.

Montreal Expose (0-1) at The Hulk Hogans (1-0)

Whitey Ford (4IP, 3H, 0R, 2K) and Mike Scott (5IP, 10H, 6R, 1K) were both outstanding from the mound as they both held Shooty's Montreal Exposé to only 13 hits, and 6 runs in 9 combined innings. GDavis' Hulk Hulgans were never trailed and weren't seriously threatened throughout the game. Shooty's offense, the highest ranked offense by power, couldn't figure out the Hulkster's tandem as they looked defensive and timid all day. The Exposé didn't cross the plate until the 6th inning. M.Mantle, Gehrig, Jacksn, and Mathws combined to only go 5/18 from the heart of the order - all with over a +900 power rating in addition to two players with a 870 power rating - the best in the league.

GDavis' Hulksters, playing at home in front of a wild sea of orange and yellow fans, opened the game up in the 7th by scoring 7 runs in which 8 straight batters hit safely by a series of singles and two doubles to top off the rally. Stan Musial led all hitters with 4RBI and had the only HR for the Hulksters.

Purple Reign (1-0) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-1)

Nacho's Purple Reign put on a hitting display sparked by Dave Winfield to plow over Tempo's Steely Dan's Revenge, 29-18.

Dave Winfield drove in 8 runners on 5 hits (2HR, 2 2B, 1B) and it was his 4th inning HR that changed the lead and the momentum. Down 10-9 in the 4th, Winfield blasted a 3-run shot to give the Purple Reign a 12-9 lead as well as the momentum as the Purple Reign tallied 8 runs. Mr. May also added a 2-run HR in the 5th to give the Purple Reign a 16-10 lead during a 5-run rally. Steely Dans Revenge did hit well enough with 19 runs scored, but they never got a big inning down the stretch and just couldn't keep up with the Purple Reign's firepower.

Nah, even if he would have had a more productive day, your guys would have made up for that in the last half of the 9th - your team didn't need to bat in the bottom of the 9th.

Anyways, as promised, Week 2 takes place tonight 4pm Dee Nee time and 11pm my time. Here is the schedule:

haha, holy shit what game changers! I didn't think your Expose would win since the Steely Dans kept going in front all game, but then that HUGE inning on those errors and missing an easy out by throwing the ball around too much after a tag situation at home but the catcher decided to throw to first and it was too late - ALL with 2 outs!

Dude, straight dealing. And U7's team is pretty potent.

And The Empire is back on track! Hack Wilson finally started to hit bombs, but they came after 3 straight hitless at-bats. The dude is an oddball and not much of a team guy. If he can do his thing with his 10 contact and 975 power, he can be as odd as he wants if he puts up numbers.

Anyways, I'll begin scoring in a while and hopefully will have all the games done late tonight. If that happens, we on for week 3 tomorrow.

Montreal Exposé (1-1) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-2)

With 2 outs, Tony Perez and Ernie Banks committed devastating errors in the 8th and 9th innings and opening the door for 10 runs for the Exposé. Down 13-12 with 2 outs in the top half of the 8th, a hungover Mickey Mantle hit a routine shallow flyball that Tony Perez camped under. Perez bobbled the ball allowing H.Groh to score from third base and 4 hits later with 5 unearned runs tallied, the Exposé seized the momentum with a 17-13 lead.

In the top of the 9th and the Exposé up 17-14, Shooty's team blew the game wide open courtesy of a Ernie Banks error with 2 outs. That lead to a Gene Tenace Grand Slam and by the time the smoke cleared, the Exposé were in control and took a 24-14 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Carl Hubbel pitched the last two innings in relief and held down Tempo's Steely Dans without a mounted threat with a final score of 24-16 and the Exposé first win of the Arcade season.

Mickey Mantle was the player of the game by going 5/6, 3 towering homeruns, 1 double, and 4 RBI. A striking fact was that the Montreal Exposé outscored the Steely Dans 15-3 in the last three innings and after Tony Perez's error, the look in the Steely Dan's dugout was one of dismal defeat and the energy deflated by the Steely Dan's batters.

U7 (1-1) at Blue Footed Boobies (2-0)

Vida Blue was spectacular and dominant in his complete game to lead the Blue Footed Boobies to a 17-7 victory over the U7 and to an impressive 2-0 start in the FRBI Arcade league.

Vida Blue didn't give up a run until the 4th inning and only surrendered 14 hits and 6 earned runs. From the plate, he added 2 hits, one of which a 3B, and two runs scored.

With the Blue Foots leading 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th, a 7-run rally essentially put the game away with a 11-2 Blue Footed Boobies lead and considering the zone Vida Blue was in.

The Empire (1-1) at Cleveland Spiders (0-2)

The Empire jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the 1st inning and coasted the rest of the way for Darkside's first ever victory in the Fantasy RBI Arcade league.

Fightonusc's Spiders made somewhat of a threat in the bottom of the 5th by tightening the score 10-6, but the Empire scored a fury of runs led by Captain Donny Baseball (4/7, HR, 2 2B, 4 RBI) who drilled a 3-run shot to highlight a 7-run rally. A 17-6 lead was more than enough for Ron Guidry who went the distance in a solid outing. Guidry helped his cause with a 5/6 performance and 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. And the highest ranked hitter, Hack Wilson, finally showed the Arcade world a glimpse of his awe inspiring power and potential by blasting a pair of shoots, one of which left the universe.

The lone highlight for the Cleveland Spiders was Bobby Bonds 3 HR's. Fighton's Spiders 5-6-7 part of the lineup only went 3/14 with 1 RBI and 1 R scored while the Empire went 9/19 with 2HR's and 7 RBI from the same part of the lineup.

Swinging Dicks (1-1) at The Hulk Hogans (1-1)

Up until the 8th inning, the Hulkamania fans at Hulkster Stadium were treated with a pitching duel between both the Swinging Dicks and the Hulk Hogans.

The Hulksters took a 7-5 into the 8th inning and turned the ball over to the bullpen. Todd Worrell was roughed up for 3 runs off four hits and a Jack Clark 2-run HR to give the Dicks a 8-7 edge going in the bottom half of the 8th.

The Hulk Hogans then answered with two pinch hit homeruns from Kevin Bass and Jose Cruz off Bill Sutton to put the Hulksters in front 10-8. Dave Righetti took the mound to close the door shut, but the resilient Swinging Dicks led by Ryno, kicked down the door and scored 5 frantic runs to go up 13-10. Ryno gave the ball to Lee Smith to capture a victory, and Lee Smith pitched just good enough as he limited the Hulksters to 2 runs off a Fred Lynn 2-run shot.

Jack Clark's 4/6, 2 HR, 1 2B, and 6 RBI performance earned him player of the game. Lou Brock displayed his ability to put the ball in play and use his blazing speed with his 2 clutch triples, one of which was a 2-run triple to tie the game in the 9th inning.

For the Hulk Hogans, they were only limited to a paltry 16 hits, but Mike Scott pitched brilliantly (4IP, 7H, 1R, 1K) and Whitey Ford only gave up 4 runs in his 3 innings of long relief. The bullpens were the difference today in front of a raucous Hulkamaniac crowd, and Ryno's Swinging Dicks was just good enough to be the better bullpen.

Sides of Beef (2-0) at Purple Reign (1-1)

The Sides of Beef narrowly edged the Purple Reign, 20-19, in a back-and-forth fight at Prince Stadium.

Leading 17-15 going into the top of the 8th, Nacho turned to his bullpen to carry the Purple Reign to victory. Cy Young came in for short relief and on his first pitch, Dickie Thon got a hold of a mistake pitch for a homerun to leadoff the inning. After a Steve Garvey comebacker out, Vince Coleman smacked a double setting up Dan Drissen to tie the game.

Drissen turned on an inside fastball off Cy Young and deposited the ball just over the RF fence for the go-ahead run with the Sides of Beef leading 18-17. Joe Torre went on to hit a double followed by a Dwayne Murphy homerun giving the BeefMasters a 20-15 lead going into the bottom of the 8th.

Lew Burdette took the bump in the bottom of the 8th and limited the Purple Reign to 2 runs with the score tightening 20-19 for the BeefMasters. Bruce Sutter pitched a scoreless top half of the 9th for the Purple Reign. In the bottom half of the 9th, Don Gullet, who was a member of four consecutive World Series champions (Reds/Yankees), displayed his championship DNA by picking up a save with the tying run on second with 1 out - he got Willie Davis and Bruce Sutter on consecutive outs to finish the game.

For the Sides of Beef, Davey Lopes, Dave Kingman, and Dwayne Murphy all hit a pair of homeruns with Lopes leading the team with 4 runs batted in. Don Gullet picked up Player Of The Game with his clutch save.

Joe Adcock led the Purple Reign with 2 towering homeruns and 7 RBI. Jose Canseco hit safely 5 times with a homerun and Roy Campanella contributed with a pair of shots, 5 hits, and 4 RBI.

Sides of Beef (3-0) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-3)

The Sides of Beef are now the lone undefeated team in the FRBI Arcade league after blowing out and mercy-ruling the winless Steely Dan's Revenge, 26-13 in 8 innings.

Dave Kingman and Dwayne Murphy combined to go 10/12 with 7 HR's and 14 RBI. The 3-hole and 4-hole sluggers of the league's #1 offense went back-to-back two separate times in the 5th and 8th innings. Catcher Bill Terry, and his 795 power rating/6 contact rating went deep twice and drove in 4 runs. Luis Tiant pitched all 8 innings and avoided big innings with a solid outing.

As for Tempo's winless and last place Steely Dans, reports coming out of social media reveal there may be an off-field distraction. A woman dubbed as "Catholic Girl" hasn't shown up to a single home game with the alleged tickets left for her by Tempo. Rumors are swirling that there may be some type of conflict between Tempo and Catholic Girl which has shook up the organization.

Blue Footed Boobies (2-1) at Cleveland Spiders (1-2)

In a low scoring Fantasy Arcade contest, the Cleveland Spiders dramatically captured their first league win in a 12-10 nail biter.

With the score tied up at 7 in the bottom of the 8th and two outs with a runner on second base, Bobby Bonds jumped on the first pitch from Fernando Valenzuela and drilled the ball just over the LF fence for the go-ahead run. Joe Morgan than laced a triple that was followed by a McCovy RBI single. Babe Ruth (5/5, 3 HR, 5 RBI) then followed with a 2-run line drive laser into the RF cheap seats to give Fighton's Spiders a 12-7 lead heading into the top of the 9th.

In the top of the 8th, JR Richard relieved John Tudor and was faced with runners on first and second base with one out. Richard turned up the heat and got Frank Robinson to lineout and then struck out Johnny Bench who had homered three times earlier. Lefty Grove held the fort for the Spiders in the 9th and picked up the win.

The starting pitchers for both teams were spectacular.

Nomaaa's Blue Footed Boobies picked up their first defeat despite the dominant pitching from the starting pitchers.

Swinging Dicks (2-1) at Montreal Exposé (1-2)

In an exciting game that saw the lead change several times, Ryno's Swinging Dicks outscored the Exposé 8-3 in the final two innings to improve to a 2-1 record.

Down 16-14 in the top of the 8th, the Swinging Dicks ledoff the inning with pinch hitter Vada Pinson. Pinson reached first base courtesy of a Rabbit Maranville error on a bloop popup. RP Carl Hubbel got the next two batters out and then Joltin Joe stepped up and delivered a game-tying shot. Mark McGwire and Roger Maris followed up by blasting back-to-back homeruns making the score 18-16.

In the bottom half of the 8th, Shooty's Exposé got back-to-back doubles and a single from E.Mathews, Billy Williams, and Jack Clark which produced 2 runs to tie up the game in front of lively crowd at Loverboy Stadium. In the top of the 9th, DiMaggio hit the go-ahead single putting runners at the corner. McGwire then hit an opposite-field 3 run HR to give the Swinging Dicks all that they would need to capture a 22-19 victory.

Ryno's team got 17 RBIs from DiMaggio, McGwire, and Maris. McGwire hit 3 homeruns, R.Maris hit a pair, and Cronin also added a pair from the 7-hole. Joe DiMaggio hit for the cycle and led all players with 7RBI. Lee Smith earned the win with his 1-run 9th.

For the Exposé, Mickey Mantle hit 3 homeruns.

The Empire (1-2) at Purple Reign (2-1)

The Purple Reign defeated the Empire in another low scoring Fantasy Arcade game. Nacho's bullpen allowed 0 runs and only two hits in the final two innings with the game on the line. "Fergie" Jenkins also pitched exceptionally in his 3 innings of long relief and only gave up 2 runs off three hits.

The Empire scored 10 runs in the first five innings to take a 10-6 lead. From that point on, Purple Reign outscored the Empire 6-0 in the final 4 innings. "Fergie" Jenkins, Cy Young, and Bruce Sutter surrendered only 5 hits in those 4 innings and they were aided by superb defense with 3 double plays executed. Offensively for the Purple Reign, they were led by Bruce Hornsby who hit 3 HRs and Joe Adcock who went 5/5 with 3 double and 2 HRs along with 4 RBI. Joe Adcock hit the game winning double in the bottom of the 8th inning.

It was a dismal offensive day for the Empire. Hack Wilson (4/5) HR, 2B), was the only hitter to have a good day. As noted before, the Empire hit into 3 double plays and with Ashby pinch hitting and representing the tying-run, Bruce Sutter's nasty cutter produced a game-ending double play. In the history of the Fantasy RBI League, teams who hit into 3 double plays only win 2% of the time!

Yep! You don't remember Steely Dan's Revenge? That's your squad. To recap, I started this league in 2018 and did one week, and then there was a long stop until last week when I decided to reboot the league. Also, I think I might take over your league that was never finished and reboot that ... maybe. I will also be taking over nomaaa's Super Nes league that is 3 weeks in. I think I'll start that league in the next two days to keep up what ever momentum is left and so that people don't forget about their drafted teams. The Super Nes league will be played once a week while this league is going, and when this Arcade league is done, then the Super Nes league will continue. Also for anyone else paying attention, the Super Nes league will be expanded to 18 games.

U7 (2-1) at The Hulk Hogans (1-2)

U7 used plenty offense and a clutch bullpen to hold on to a 23-21 win over the Hulk Hogans.

With the game 23-15 in favor of Ultimate's U7 in the bottom of the 7th, GDavis' team kept fighting back to the last batter. Down 23-21 in the bottom of the 9th and with runners on second and third with two outs, Joe Niekro got Dave Righetti to ground out and pick up the win.

Leading the way for the U7, the Yaz smacked 3 HRs and drove in 7 while The Thrill blasted a pair of shots with 4 RBI.

For the Hulksters, Jim Rice hit 3 HRs and drove in 7. And Stan Musial hit two HRs.

Koufax was spectacular! 5 innings pitched and only gave up 4 hits and 1R off a HR. That's a rarity when a pitcher gives up less hits than innings pitched. Steely Dans Revenge is right back in it and they showed how dangerous they can be.

Another sharp outing was The Empire's Drysdale - 4.2 innings pitched and only gave up 6 hits and three runs along with 1 HR. He only gave up 1 hit in the final three innings - retired the side in the 7th and 9th. And good to see Hack Wilson show up and go deep 3 times! Kingman continues to crush for Beefy.

And then GPerry only gave up 4 runs and 1HR and 6 hits in his four inning CG! Nomaaa's pitching staff is leading the league in least runs allowed and I am assuming ERA - doing the stats this weekend.

Anyways, I found an online scorekeeper that generates a boxscore and keeps stats although I am still trying to figure out everything Scored two games so far and I have to edit the first game scored since I made all kinds of mistakes while trying to figure out the program. It is my goal to have the stats done by tomorrow and then week 5 will take place on Monday.

Also, the site I am using for the league did the scheduling and it was dumb. If you noticed that you have either been home or away the whole time, blame the schedule generator! It'll flip after as soon as everyone has played each other, but I may edit that since the long road trips for teams is too weary. And the way the schedule works, a SP is set to face the same team twice, but I'll fix that and keep the same pitcher in the rotation after everyone has played each other once so each team doesn't face the same pitcher twice.

Current standings and schedule for Monday. 2 weeks have almost gone by and we are averaging 2 games a week - Dee Nee! Recaps and boxscores to be posted today and tomorrow.

U7 (2-2) at Montreal Exposé (2-2)

The FRBI Arcade media built up the meeting between the U7 and Exposé as a high scoring slugfest featuring displays of fireworks all night after an imagined onslaught of homeruns by both teams. Only the hometeam showed up with their big sticks to the delight of the fans at Loverboy Stadium.

The Exposé made quick work of the U7 and mercy ruled then in four innings by scoring 17 runs led by Mickey Mantle (pictured below), Reggie Jackson, and Eddie Mathews who all combined to go 12/12 with 3HR, 4 doubles, and 11 RBI.

Gaylord Perry was sharp and had the U7 hitters off-balance in those 4 quick innings.

The game was the shortest ever in the history of the Fantasy RBI Arcade league.

Lot of opposite field hitting. Maybe Fighton instructed his hitters to sit back and think the other way in order to be patient on the puss pitches and not be out in front too much! When I played, I'd try and go the other way on those off-speed pitchers who didn't throw hard at all. In college during a fall ball game, our coach had the entire team go the other way for every at-bat. If anyone pulled the ball, they immediately came out of the game!

Yes! The standings generator has it wrong, but I have the score difference as the second highest determiner for tiebreakers.

Anyways, I think I got the hang of the scoresheet program now. Took me a while to figure out substitutions and saving lineups - took me almost an hour to fix a substitution. So the scoring took a LOT longer than anticipated, but it should be easy going now. However, that put me behind on setting up the stat Excel sheet and the inputting the stats. It'll come hopefully tomorrow and if not, by Tuesday. Week 5 will happen tomorrow, updated stats or not. BTW, a couple of the boxscores are a little off due to learning on the fly and it's not life or death if it is so since I don't want to go back to the scoresheet program and fiddle with it and then have it saved oddly in the stat program that it feeds.

The Empire (2-2) at Sides of Beef (3-1)

Hack Wilson had a huge day and Don Dyrsdale held down the #1 scoring offense to hand the Sides of Beef their first defeat of the season at Dakota Taco Buffet Stadium.

Hack Wilson blasted 3 shots and drove in 8 runners to help carry The Empire. Don Drysdale only gave up 6 hits and 3 runs as well as 1 hit down the stretch. Drysdale pitched 4 2/3 of relief and picked up the save. The Empire pitching staff was sharp in location and had the Sides of Beef off-balance all game with off-speed pitches on hitter's counts. The Sides of Beef, the #1 hitting team in the league, were held to a season low 11 runs. However, the Sides of Beef lined into 3 double plays and had runners thrown out at third base two times tallying 5 X outs. Those X outs killed potential big innings and maybe the game - RBI teams are 2W-86L when they commit 5 X outs.

The Empire continues to struggle in the late innings. The Empire only scored 1 run in the last three innings and haven't scored a run in the 8th or 9th in the last two games.

Swinging Dicks  (2-2) at Steely Dan's Revenge (1-3)

Sandy Koufax took the ball in the top of the 5th and pitched lights out by giving up only 4 hits and one run as he led the way to the Steely Dan's Revenge first win of the season. Koufax's performance was arguably the best ever in the history of the FRBI League. It is a rarity that a pitcher pitches at least 5 innings and surrenders less hits than innings pitched.

The Swinging Dicks jumped out to a 10-2 lead after the top of the 3rd inning, but from there they would only score 1 run the rest of the way as they were outscored 20-1.

Dawson and Fisk both hit 2 homeruns and the two combined to go 11/12 and 12 RBIs.

Blue Footed Boobies (3-1) at Purple Reign (2-2)

The Blue Footed Boobies moved into first place of the FRBI Arcade League by way of outstanding pitching and a 4-run 9th inning insurance rally. Marchl relieved V.Blue and surrendered zero runs in his 3 sharp innings to pick up the win. Vlnzla earned the save by only allowing 2 runs in the 8th and 9th.

With a slim 11-10 lead in the top of the 9th, the Blue Foots scored 4 runs which was more than enough for El Toro who breezed through the 9th to end the game. Nomaaa's Blue Footed Boobies have surged into first place thanks to the league's #1 pitching staff who have given up the least runs. Week 5 should be a dandy as the Blue Foots meet the Sides of Beef and their #1 offense.

Offensively for the the Blue Foots, J.Bench went 5/5 with a pair of HRs and 5 RBI.

Cleveland Spiders (1-3) at The Hulk Hogans (2-2)

Down 18-9 in the top of the 8th, the Cleveland Spiders crawled back into the game with a 7-run frantic rally to narrow their deficit 18-16. However, in the top of the 9th, Todd Worrell ended all hope for a Spiders comeback win as he pitched a scoreless yet nerve-racking 9th to pick up the save.

The Hulksters jumped out to a 17-6 lead after 5 innings and starter Mike Scott was cruising until he was chased out in the 8th inning. In the 9th and facing the heart of the order, Todd Worrell quickly disposed of Joe Morgan and Willie McCovey. Babe Ruth then drove a screaming line drive into the left-center gap for a double. George Foster, one of the most feared right-handed sluggers of his era, stepped up to the plate and represented the tying run. With the 3-1 count in Foster's favor, Worrell jammed him to weakly ground out to the SS and Babe Ruth was thrown out at 3B to end the game and send the Hulkster Stadium into a frenzy.

Bobby Bonds led all hitters with 3 homeruns, and Ernie Lombardi led all hitters with 5 RBI from the 8-hole.

Thanks man! Also, I didn't mean to downplay Viola's near perfect mercy rule game from 2017 when Fighton ran the last league ... that finished! Easily top 5 in best pitching performances in the league.

Game time will be at 1pm Dee Nee time as scheduled. So after I run the games and upload to YT, it should be about 2pm.

The BallStat - BallScore program I have tracks all imagined stats and can generate individual leaders as well as any other stat that can be thought of. It's used by coaches at many levels and is used by MaxPreps. So season stats is taken care of with the program and that saves me a lot of time. I'm at work and will be inputting weeks 1-3 into the program. Doubt I'll have all weeks done before gametime, but after week 5, I'll be able to produce a leaders board and team stats - Dee Nee!

One last thing, the errors have been set to 5 all season and we'll keep it there - keeps it professional and more random with the errors.

Final last thing - we need to go Twitch and live. After nomaaa ran the games live on Twitch, I fell in love with it since it's live and there's other people watching. I'll just need to buy a new laptop soon.

Never seen that! I also saw somebody beat out a throw from third to first base - forgot who it was and which game. I think it was one of the Hulksters.

The Empire's late inning scoreless jinx and streak continues, holy shit. What's so hard about scoring a run down the stretch?!

I was expecting Nacho's team to explode any inning, but they just couldn't get a rally going against M.Scott. Only 4 runs!

Hack Wilson needs to hit at least 1 HR a game along with Hank Aarron. Neither went deep but had hits. My bottom of the lineup is scrappy and they can deliver here and there, but then they'll disappear and if my big starts don't have big days, it'll be hard for us to win. My pitching staff won't keep throwing low teen numbers and when they don't, well, Hack Wilson needs to be going deep 2-3 times a game or Hank. Very frustrating.

Yeah, Nomaaaa's team has the early "Look". And I hate to say it, but the Cleveland Spiders just lack pop and consistency as well as an inconsistent pitching staff to pull wins together. They don't look too good, but it's early. I also thought U7 would be doing much better, but they seem to be missing something.

The league is still wide open and remember the playoff format - top 5 get an automatic bid, and then the 6-7-8 place teams will do a play-in for the 6th seed. So basically, avoid the 9th and last place finish.

2 things seemed out of the ordinary in his pinch hit appearance:
1. he hit a (just) foul ball down the line that was obliterated
2. he didnt beat out a grounder to short

Christ... four runs after the second inning is NOT gonna cut it. 0-4 from the pinch hitters, and the meat of the order just could not make anything happen.

Yeah, very disappointing on both counts (that the ball went just foul and that he didn't beat out the grounder). I was hoping for a slap hit and was almost very excited for an unexpected dinger.

Coleman's ratings are 26/690/148 and I double checked the rom to look for anything unusual and there wasn't and shouldn't be since the arcade rom simply required swapping players as opposed to manually inputting a lot of players like on the Super RBI league. He did mash the ball down the line and it had to be at max 690 power when he did that. As far as the ground ball, he hit it pretty hard and the throw to first was a seed. I too was surprised but maybe it would look more normal at normal NES speed. I have the emulator throttle on 180 and I score the games from my media player that plays back the window's recording.

Don't forget Coleman's 690 power had a 64 point PH boost.  He did mash it though.

But Maranville hit a dinger this season with 705 power and no boost.

Ohhhh, that's right! Rabbit could be one of those players who performs above his hitting ratings. 1 HR can happen, but let's see if he goes yard 2-3 more times with that 705 power. Nacho had Doran go career year for him in the last league finished. There are a few on NES who do that (hit above their hitting ratings), and I do have a slight idea with the scouting stats I have, but the number of games are limited and will be interesting to see if this season shows that those players can do it consistently.

Update on scoring - GROWING PAINS! Complications come when I have to score an error after a hit where the runners advance safely after the hit but 1-2 score and 1 runners is hosed at home. Then a linedrive out at 3B where the 3B throws to the wall in the fall area and the runner on third advances. Took me forever to figure out the proper sequence of scoring. Also doesn't help that my hand written scoresheets weren't meticulous.  But this once I got this scoresheet program down, it should be eazypleazy.

The Rabbit Maranville pick is a crapshoot.  On paper he should be terrible.  705 power with a 36 contact rating.  But that's the rub.  I want him to hit like a pitcher (or worse).  With his 146 speed, the softer he hits, the more he should get on base.  As long as he keeps it on the ground, I'm expecting he should be OK.  Maybe even a couple inside the park homers potentially.  This is all just speculation.  Be interested to hear from Darky how he fared in sims.  Although he probably didn't get many at bats.

This seems to be working.  I like Rabbit as my leadoff guy.

This Fantasy Arcade league has more speedy players and lower scoring games. The total stolen bases should shatter the total for previous leagues. I'll look at the stats from previous seasons and see how this league measures against the NES leagues.

The scoring is finally going a little better now that I understand the program and fixing mistakes that I made. It took me forever to fix the scoresheet when I forgot to sub in a pitcher on a couple of occasions and that took time to figure out. So I have weeks 2-3 & 5 left to score.

So as it looks now, week 6 will happen either on Saturday or Sunday depending on how fast I get the stats and leaderboards updated. Consider that scoring a game with no hiccups takes usually 1 hour. With hiccups, ughhh - longer than a hour.

Please be patient for the sake of quality and professionalism. I want the box scores after week 5 to show the updated numbers and we need a leaderboard posted. Once I get done with this, we'll try and do 3 games a week.

Situation update: We are on track for week 6 on Sunday - George Zimmer guarantee!

I just have one game left to score from week 3 and then it's on to week 5 (week 4 and all others are done). I'll finish up week three today (by 11pm my time) and then I'll squeeze in a game from week 5 - then whip it through tomorrow to get week 5 done as well as the post the boxscores and recaps from week 5. And THEN I will be finally caught up.

So no worries about this league going on lockdown or whatever - I am very motivated and passionate about doing the leagues now Trust me, I want to get shit rolling, but I can't until I got the stats updated and the database up to date. 2 games a week we have been averaging, so let's not get greedy here, haha!

Next week I'll try and get 3 games a week and I feel good that will be the norm until it's playoff time.

At some point in the second half, I may start to randomize the errors for each game - I'll run a lottery and even film it and then post it.

Also will try and do a vlog on YT to recap the first few weeks with some analysis, predictions, and all that fun stuff - maybe if I can pull it off the way I want it to broadcast.

Once these stats are updated in the database, this league will have the depth in narrative courtesy of statistics. It'll be worth the wait. The database will update everything once I score a game and that saves huge amounts of time. I got the program down now and it's going much faster. As long as I don't make human errors, things go fast, but I have learned to speed up fixing mistakes.

Sorry for the delay gentlemen, but no worries, I'll will jam these games down everybody's throats and starholes once the database is updated.

One last thing, I am going to give Twitch another go. Nomaaa, expect mail in the forum mailbox. We MUST go live at some point.

Blue Footed Boobies (4-1) at Sides of Beef (3-2)

In an early season showdown for 1st place, the Blue Footed Boobies made a strong statement with a resounding 23-14 win over the Sides of Beef at Dakota Taco Buffet Park.

TWilms, FRbnsn, and JBench all homered and combined to go for 16/20 with 13 RBIs. SP Marchl hit a 2 run inside-the-park-HR to help his cause.

After the 4th with the score 13-12 in the Blue Foots favor, Vida Blue took over and never relinquished the lead as he scattered only 8 hits and allowed 2 runs in 5 innings of dominating relief over the #1 scoring team in the league.  The Blue Footed Boobies outscored the Sides of Beef 10-2 after the 4th inning.

The power hitting Sides of Beef only managed to knock out 3 balls out of the park - a season low.

The Steely Dans Revenge bullpen took over in the 8th and 9th innings and pitched lights-out as RP Garber and RP McCrmk each fanned a batter and only allowed 2 hits and zero runs to cement the Steely Dans second win in a row after starting the season 0-3. a Dans all they needed going in the 9th with a 12-10 lead over the Empire. McCrmk retired the side in the top of the 9th to end the game as the lively fans at Tempo Park chanted "IT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOREIGN MOVIE" in the direction of the Empire who was leaving the field through the tunnel.

The Empire's late inning scoring struggles continues. The Empire have now scored 0 runs in the 8th and 9th innings in consecutive games and in 3 of their 5 games.  And it should be noted that Ron Cey hit into three double plays!

Sparked by a 2 out "Rabbit" Maranville infield single that led to a Mantle 3-run HR in the second inning, the Montreal Exposé outscored the struggling Cleveland Spiders 17-5 from the 5th until the 8th inning to convincingly win 27-14 in a mercy rule victory.

Mickey Mantle (3HR, 1 3B) and Reggie Jackson (3 HR, 3 2B) both went 6/6 and Eddie Mathews joined the hitting fest wit 3 screaming blasts and 7 RBI.

What was a tight game after 4 innings, the Spiders couldn't keep up with the Exposé's firepower. Montreal jumped on Tudor and when he came in relief and Montreal's pitching was good enough to limit the Spiders.

A noteworthy first in the history of the Fantasy RBI League, is Rabbit's 2 infield singles - nobody has ever hit 2 infield singles in the same game - both were ground balls to the second baseman - speed kills!

W.Ford and M.Scott were both masterful in limiting an explosive Purple Reign to only 4 runs as the Hulk Hogans won their second straight with a 15-4 business-like victory.

J.Rice led the Hulk Hogans offense with a 6/6, 3 HR, and 6 RBI showing at the plate.

Purple Reign's 3-4-5 hitters registered zero RBIs.

Roger Clemens pitched a brilliant complete game to help lead the Swinging Dicks to a 21-10 victory of U7.

Clemens gave up only 17 hits and 10 runs in his strong 9 innings. Down the stretch, Clemens only got stronger by allowing zero runs. McGwire hit a pair of shots and drove in 5 runs and Jack Clark drove in 4 runners on the strength of two doubles and a 3-run homerun to lead the Dicks offense.

U7 was never really in the ball game and barely mustered a threat. The bright spot was Will Clark's grand slam and 6 rbi.

Good question. I think 6 runs is a good number for a 4-inning start or more. I can try and figure out how to input that in the database - the database is still a learning process for me when doing the leader reports.

Same ROM with errors set on 5. I'll give a 1-hour time window for any lineup changes. Before I blabber about yesterday's games and post the boxscores/recaps, I am happy to say that Week 7 will be a go tonight at 4pm Dee Nee time.

nomaaa, Guidry (now 1 or 2 in the league in ERA) came with it for the Empire's home opener! Your bottom half couldn't get the clutch hits with ducks on the pond, but this Guidry can pitch. Things went the Empire's way with some catches at the wall, my scrappers in the bottom half producing, and Hack fuckin Wilson showing up big! Also, there is a concept I learned in sports when playing baseball - "afraid to win". Don't be afraid to win amigo - doubt affects the players! You're the upstart this year and you just had an off day - your team has a great shot to win it as long as Vida gets back to shutdown pitching.

And a very eye opening statistic - George Foster is only hitting .300 with 2HR, 7 RBI and two 2Bs in 30 at-bats for Fighton's Cleveland Spiders. Foster's attributes: Contact 16 POWER 945! That's statistically astonishing given his above average power and good contact from the left side. I didn't scout him a couple of years ago when I scouted some players, so I have no data on him to expect any projections. On the other hand, Bobby Bonds and his 855 power and 18 contact has gone deep 11 times already in 34 at-bats - he hit 7 bombs in 52 at-bats in my simulated scouting games.

DwEvans and Jody Davis are hitting above their attributes - Jody is hitting over .600 ... thus far. DwEvans isn't doing anything special, but he is hitting just above his weight as my scouting reports suggests. Donnie Baseball is having a horrible year. I don't think he likes the 2-hole. But he's barely hitting .400. Hank Aarron is underperforming as well. Cey rakes, but holy fuck does he like to hit into double plays - leading the league. My pitching is fit strong so far!

Also over-performing is Rabbit - holy shit! And a bigger holy shit is with Mickey Mantle! Damn is he having a season.

I'd say the teams in first place right now should all finish top 4 and each is a favorite to win with some bounces going their way. Put a gun to my head, and I'd say it's really up to the 1. Hulksters, 2. Blue Footed Boobies, and 3. Montreal - 4. Ryno's team has heart, but I think their late inning heroics may reverse as the season goes along, but Clemens is top three in ERA now. The season is still early but I can only make predictions for what the results say.

A surprise is Steely Dan's team - they have the firepower, but the pitching is inconsistent and for some reason, their sticks go quiet. I don't know about Beef's team, firepower is there, but the pitching is meh and bad team speed. My team has horrible team speed and if Hack doesn't hit and the pitching isn't lights out, we won't go far. Ultimate's team I thought would do better - not enough firepower and guns on the bump. Purple Reign was looking really good, but their offense can disappear and their bullpen is shakey. And Fighton's Cleveland Spiders - Foster is a clubhouse cancer! And holy shit is the Arcade version of Tudor nothing like the NES version - all he does is get rocked.

Well, I'll cover other odd shit that I have seen at another time. Just 2 games left to score and then the recaps will come a little later ... then WEEK 7 with the boys of summer!

The Empire had their debut home opener at their new Imperial Stadium in Las Vegas. The atmosphere was electric and Lord Darth Vader threw out the first pitch in front of 103,333 fans. The atmosphere not only intimidated the upstart and first place Blue Foot Boobies, but it also energized the highest rated Arcade slugger, Hack Wilson as well as Ron Guidry who is second in the Arcade league in ERA.

Hack Wilson mashed 2 shots, drove in 7, and went 5/5 to lead the Empire's offense. Meanwhile, Ron Guidry improved to 3-0 and after giving up 6 runs in the first two innings, only allowed 1 run the rest of the way for his complete game win.

Vida Blue, the league's leader in ERA, wasn't at his best and the Blue Foots heart of the order wasn't necessarily productive.

The Exposé won their 3rd straight in heroic fashion at Loverboy Stadium in Montreal and now sit atop first place by way of runs scored (4-way tie for first place).

Down 22-18 in the bottom of the 9th and facing Bruce Sutter, Lou Gehrig led off a string of hits before a out was recorded and just like that, the score was tied at 22. Reese hit a pinch hit double with one out which was followed by a 4-3 ground out that moved over Reese to third. The stage was set for Rabbit Mrnvil and he delivered a perfectly placed GWH to send Loverboy Stadium into a frenzy.

Mickey Mantle added 2 towering homeruns to his league leading 14 and he increased his league leading RBI count to 25.

The Purple Reign only have to wonder after a Bruce Sutter blown save and loss. They turned the tables after being down 11-4 to take a 22-18 lead into the ninth, but their failure to add insurance runs in the top of the 9th off Radatz didn't help their cause.

I don't track and register pitchers. That would take an obscene amount of time to score games to track each pitch. If we did, the games wouldn't be storming in like they will be until this season is done.

Down to their last out trailing 17-16, Jack Clark tied the game with an opposite-field-homerun. Ryne Sandberg then reached second on a double. Joe Cronin, with 2 outs facing Lefty Grove, hit an eye-seeing single up the middle to bring Sandberg across home plate for a Swinging Dicks victory. The win moved the Swinging Dicks into a 4-way tie for first place. Roger Marris and Joltin Joe led the charge for the Dicks on offense.

For the struggling Spiders, they showed a lot of heart and a glimpse of how dangerous they can be, but an ongoing theme is the struggle of George Foster who went 0-5 to drop his average to .300. The rumors are many for a player who has a 945 power and 16 contact with only 2 homeruns, but the reality is that if he breaks out of his slump, maybe the Spiders can string some wins together to move out of the cellar. In the history of the Fantasy RBI league, no team has ever started 1-5.

U7 jumped all over Bob Gibson in the top of the first inning and never looked back as they quickly dismantled Steely Dans Revenge in a 22-7 mercy rule win in only 5 innings.

U7 led off the game with 7 straight hitters reaching base on hits resulting in a quick 6 runs before a out was recorded. They out hit the Steel Dans 30-14 and displayed their potential on offense.

Mike Scott had a stellar performance from the mound and J.Foxx and Nettls each had a pair of homers to lead the impressive Hulk Hogans to 18-12 win that was really never close.

Mike Scott improved to 2-0 and got his second complete game win of the year. He held the #2 offense Sides of Beef to zero runs through the first 4 innings. After taking a 13-3 lead in the 5th, the Hulk Hogans seemingly slept walked their way to victory. The Sides of Beef fought their way back to narrow their deficit, but each time they did, the Hulksters answered to put enough distance between them and the Sides of Beef.

The Sides of Beef have lost their third straight after their impressive start while the Hulk Hogans have now won 3 in a row to move into a 4-way tie for first place.

My two hole slot has some curse. I juggled my lineup again and put in J.Davis in the 2-hole and he killed us in multiple clutch situations.

GDavis' MWills had a day with his 705 power. I think he had 4 hits. And Musial, Lynn, and Nettles are way over performing above their attributes. Musial and Mattingly have the same contact and power attributes, but Musial is outhitting Mattingly this year by a mile.

This Arcade ROM is funky and I have no idea if there is a hidden glitch, but some things seem out of whack with a lot of players over and underperorming. Or it's just the random bad or good luck depending on the player and the game played when I go live. haha, Tempo's team really shouldn't be doing as bad as they are because on paper, they look feeling dangerous!

Not too many close games this week. I don't there was one. Some quick mercy rule games happened and we had a 1-hit shutout in 4.

Some teams look like they will be back in it for a title hunt with their showing. Nacho, Beef, and Ultimate's teams let the Arcade world know they are contenders!

Down 9-4 in the bottom of the 9th, Johnny Mize's pinch hit 3-run shot shifted momentum leading to a 7-run rally to give the Sides of Beef a 11-9 lead in which they never relinquished. Soto held down the #1 offensive team in the league in his 5 innings of relief.

Today's slate and our boys of summer! All games will be in that order and gametime is 12pm Dee Nee time. When I run the games, they will directly follow each other to show integrity. For instance, when the Puprle Reign/U7 game is over and the final newspaper scoreboard is showing, I reset the game and go directly into the next game which will be the Empire/Montreal and this sequence will show on YouTube.

As for Twitch, I need a new laptop because I don't have at least 8 GB of DDR3 SDRAM - I only have 6 and that is why when I tried with Twitch, the stream was horrible. No worries, Darky gonna buy a new laptop soon enough. We NEED TO GO LIVE!

Today's slate of games for week 8 features a 1st place contest, a 2nd place battle, and a battle between the last place team and next to last place team. Huge day and may the Force bless the Empire! I'll need Guidry to be at his best and prove that he is an elite pitcher - he currently is #2 in ERA - V.Blue is #1. But the story of the day is the 1st place battle between the Hulk Hogans (GDavis) and the Blue Footed Boobies (nomaaa). The Blue Foots are first in ERA and the Hulksters are #2.

Any trades that may happen would mean that the traded players will play on their new teams in week 9. And we are almost at the halfway point for this 18 game season!

* Steely Dans Revenge will play at home. The schedule generator I used is dumb.

Gametime has been pushed back to 12pm since I won't be home in time and that I gotta fix Ryno's lineup. Expect the games to be published around 1:15 pm - takes a hour to run all the games then about 15 minutes to YouTube them.

1 hit from Hank Aarron ... 1 MEASLY HIT! And big bad Hack Wilson hits three singles. Really? He showed up to the park with a damn kilt with all those singles. I needed bombs, any, from either of those two. We put up a good fight. Guidry wasn't at his best and Drysdale did okay after 1 big 7-run inning. My team matches up good with Montreal since I saw a bunch of splits in simulated games, but the dice didn't roll our way today. Mickey Mantle dropped another 3 bombs I think. All he does is hit bombs. I think he is on his way to shatter the 12 game record from past leagues. I'll look it up, but I think Dawson had 22 in a 12-game season. Mantle already has 19 if I am not mistaken.

The Hulksters made a statement today! The arcade version of Mike Scott is better than the NES version. He had another complete game. That's 3 now.

And the Spiders finally win a game with some heroics!

Ryno's lineup change didn't roll his way.

I saw a similar glitch in week 6 or 7. With a runner at 3rd, a line drive was hit right at the 3rd baseman with one out. After making the catch, the third baseman threw it into RF and right at the RF. The guy on third tagged and scored! I have never ever seen that kind of glitch.

I thought I saw something odd. I'll have another look, but I do remember seeing something that shouldn't have happened. It was like my mind didn't comprehend what just happened because you don't expect that kind of thing and I just shrugged it off and watched the next pitch.

In fact, the game display has been shit on my emulator. It's been real choppy, static, and basically not clean when running the games. So I looked over my emulator and I discovered I was running the 0.95 VirtualNes. I just downloaded the newest version 0.97 and ran a game and the broadcast was beautiful! So for week 9, the broadcast of the games will be easy on the eyes and a lot of those glitches should be gone. Sorry about that.

Thoughts on my teams hitting:
Maranville - he's fine but may move him out of the leadoff spot.  He's not putting the ball on the ground enough or getting on base to my liking anymore
Mantle - BEAST!  Most reliable power threat on my team
Gehrig - kind of disappointed in him so far.  He's good but not putting the ball in the air enough.  But still getting his hits.
Jackson - he's been good.  Fairly consistent from game to game.  Good for 3-4 hits and at least one dinger a game.
Matthews - he's been good.  Not as much power as I would like but he seems to be a doubles machine.  Probably my second best hitter
BWilliams - disappointing.  He should be doing a lot better than what he has been.
Tenace - he's weird.  He has 870 power and shit speed but most his hits are opposite field seeing eye doubles
Sax - he's shitty but not as shitty as assumed.  If he hits .400 or more I'm fine.

Rabbit is still overachieving. When he goes (and if Sax contributes in any capacity) your team is unbeatable. Mantle is basically hitting every ball he sees out of the park. He's having a MVP season so far. Maybe the updated emulator will fix the glitch!!! Other than that, good analysis - I'd say Reggie has been great. Your weakness is your pitching. Your pitching isn't horrible, but they can be a liability. They will have good outings though (your SP's) and Hubbel is solid out of the pen.

Your boxscore is coming in 5.

I'll post them in about 4-7 hours. I still need to score 3 games and then generate the league leaders categories. Bear in mind I am at work and some drama has happened today ... which meant it has gone slower than anticipated with the scoring.

Also, any lineup changes - get them in sometime today. Week 9 happens tomorrow around noon time my time which means 5am Dee Nee time. It is possible that I may run week 9 at 4pm Dee Nee time - depends on how work and free time unfolds tomorrow.

Thanks Nacho! That is the plan with the SuperNes league. I mentioned that before since nomaaa handed the league over. I actually wanted to run that league first, but the Shooty and nomaaa convinced me to run this league first.

Down 13-5 in the bottom of the 8th, Pete Rose ignites furious comeback with pinch hit double. Babe Ruth completes comeback with 2-out walk-off HR. Nolan Ryan and Spiders bullpen shutdown Steely Dan offense in final 5 innings. Spiders bench storm homeplate and carry off the Babe on players' shoulders. Tempo's look of disbelief goes viral on social media.

* A mistake was made in an inning where a bat around was not inputted and when I re-saved the game, it doubled the total stats. So just deduct the total season stats in parenthesis by the appropriate number: for instance, Bonds hit 2 HRs, but his season total is 13 and not 15 and so on.  I'll fix it in the database.

Post by: Darky on 07/24/20, 12:18:52 PM
We are just about the halfway point of the season and the second half will go much faster since I can run the scorebook and statbook program much better and faster.

I've noticed a lot of BOPs the past two slates. The errors have been on 5 all year, so I thought it was unusual to see a sudden surge compared to earlier in the season. The errors will rotate each week for the second half and I will juice the errors up to 12 on a given week. So put on your seatbelts and cross your fingers that the RBI Gods bless you!

I will update the playoff format and it'll just be the semi-finals being a 5-game series and the quarter finals being a 3-game series. The FRBI WS will be a 7 game series. The play-in still stands as a do-or-die game.

After week 9, I'll try and post a first half recap of the season and do a quick analysis of all the teams. A huge maybe depending if I can pull it off so it is interesting to watch on YouTube.

As far as my team so far, I'll take it I guess considering that Donnie Baseball (team captain) and Hank Aarron haven't been living up to their attributes - the random generator hasn't been kind to the Empire. And Hank Wilson hasn't reached his potential yet. In the scouting sims I ran, Hack Wilson hit 27 jacks and .747 in 87 at-bats! In 44 at-bats, he's only hitting .659 with 10 homeruns. Great by most measures, but his 10 contact and 975 power should be speaking a better truth. And Donnie Baseball with his 10 contact and 855 power should be closer to .500 on either side. He started swell the first two games and was hitting .572 with a 4-hit game, but man, the random generator has bit him and I can't find a good spot in the lineup for him to thrive. I'll see how he does in the 4-hole for today's game - another lineup change!

Jackie Robinson (.568) has been overachieving as well as Jodi Davis (.553, 5 HRs) - both are over .500. Cey, DwEvns, and AlDark are all doing roughly what they should be in BA, but they are under-performing in HRs according to my scout sims with 100 at-bats - they all have only 2. Oh, Guidry is hitting .500! He's 10-20!

I thought Drysdale would be my ace since he has the same unknown attributes as Gooden, but not the same stuff as far as speed, drop, and curve. Guidry is a nice surprise and savior. Anyways, if Donnie can get back to his usual form and he has the past two games, and if Aarron and Hack stay within themselves and do what they are supposed in the second half, then that would be great! My team speed is killing me! Ron Cey is leading the league in double plays and DwEvns has 2, then Drysdale has 2 - rally and momentum killers!

This Arcade version is pretty fun to watch and I am glad I found that program to score games and keep stats since that makes running the league so much more fun. Twitch is coming as soon as I buy a new laptop - should happen on Monday maybe.

Mantle dropped another 4 bombs, holy shit! He is hitting a homerun every 2.22 at-bats. He has a league leading 23 HRs in only 51 at-bats. Fuente, Santo, Vida, and nomaaa's pinch hitters were the difference at the bottom of the lineup. Good game there.

I was actually pulling for Steely to beat the Hulksters since I know GDavis is lurking and smirking with his team ... and not saying anything. Nah, I just wanted to see the leader get taken down. Tough luck there Tempo - 2 games in a row with 1-run losses. Good game there as well. GDavis' bullpen is even tough. Tempo, I see why your offense is struggling - Bando is hitting only .278, the Arcade version of Dale Murphy isn't as good and he's hitting .417, Fisk is hitting low .400, and Doran is hitting .345.

I think I saw Foster hit a bomb and he's been a bit better the past two games. He was only hitting .400 coming in today with 3 homeruns. He is just killing Fighton's team since he's a 945 guy hitting like a 780 power guy. Fighton, move in somewhere else in the lineup and see how he responds ... or Lord Vader will for the greater good!

About time my team hits! Captain Donnie Baseball held a clubhouse meeting to talk about Empire standards and expectations with the news guys. We hit into another double play to give us the league lead at 11!

Anyways, I'll be out most of tomorrow, but I have scored 2 games and have 3 to go. I think I'll get them done and we should be set for week 10 tomorrow ... about 5pm dee nee time. So get any changes into your lineup by 4:45 dee nee time. Errors will be set to 12 for week 10 - stormy and gusty weather all across the Republic of Arcade.

That's.....   really good

Blue Foot Boobies move into sole possession of 2nd place behind clutch hitting from their stars and key hitting from the bottom of the lineup. Blue Foot pitching staff prevent big inning by powerful Exposé. Mantle's 4 HRs not enough. Mantle's HR league leading total now 23 in 51 at-bats - in position for Triple Crown.

You hit into 4 double plays! One time with GDavis pinch hitting and with the ph boost, he came in with a 963 power with the bases juiced and one out when the game was tied in the 4th. He hit a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning. Then you got doubled off a couple of times I believe and a normal ground ball double play. To compound the odds that were working against you, Sandberg went yard 2 times! And Clemens was tough today - he's legit elite in this league.

I don't notice anything unusual. I'll have to check. Are you sure it was week 9? There shouldn't be any odd glitches with the updated emulator. I'll have a look.

Surprising that the Hulksters came to the park today and thought they could just throw their hats on the field and win. It was bound to happen, and that is MWills, Lmbrdi, and F.Lynn coming back down to earth. MWills and Lmbrdi shouldn't be hitting over .500, and yet they still are. Those two guys have been having career years, along with Lynn, but maybe the random generator will start leveling things out. Those guys have been the difference for the Hulksters ... and of course M.Scott. Surprised Mantle only had one bomb!

J.Davis went 6-6! He hit at least 3 bleeders and I thinkk 2 of those were for triples. It was those bleeding ground balls that slowly roll to the RF wall. J.Davis I fear may come back to earth too with an eventual 1-6 game or two. He's hitting almost .600 which puts him second highest on my team. He is a 28/801 and DwEvns is a 22/813 guy, and yet, DwEvns is only hitting .403 and has less homeruns. Evans did a lot better in my scout sims and he's supposed to hit between .450-.490 depending on how the ball bounces, but he needs to have bigger games eventually. I have no guys hitting .300. My team speed sucks, but the construction of my team by draft and trades was just to get on base with hits. I don't have any guys under .795. The guys in the league that are low 700's and so on, if they have speed they can be weapons, but they tend to disappear some games with those damn infield popouts.

I thought Purple Reign would handle the Steely Dans, but despite the good pitching Reign has, their offense can go silent and the Steely Dans will have a game here and there where their pitching functions with enough firepower to win.

Anyways, each time is now facing the other SP for the second half, so that will be interesting to see how that plays out.

The errors at 12 wasn't really an issue. I think I'll keep it there or jack it to 14 for week 11. Or I can just do a lottery with errors set between 5-15 for the rest of the season.

Any Given Sunday in effect gentlemen -nobody has been crowned! Boxscores and recaps to roll out soon, as well as season and team leader reports. I may create a new thread just for the leaders and team stats so you all can see your own team stats.

Montreal Exposé out-hit (23-10) and outpitch 1st place Hulk Hogans in a 7-inning mercy rule slaughter after a tight start to the game. Reggie Jackson hits 2 homeruns with 6 RBI and Mantle added a shot to his league leading 24 HR. Montreal's pitching phenomenal.

Viral videos of members of the Hulk Hogans out as late as 5 am partying in Montreal. Anonymous source tells the Dee Nee Examiner that a member of the Hulksters said there was no way in hell they would lose again. Word leaked to the Exposé clubhouse and lit a flame.

Shooty, You are right. Mantle picked up the ball before Ozzie reached 3rd and as the ball was rolling in from the throw into the infield, Ozzie kept running. Interesting glitch and I doubt there is coding for players with 144+ speed to keep running if the ball is picked up deep in center while 2/3 the distance to third base. I watched the video on the slowest setting on youtube. I believe it's a rare glitch that happens. We've seen it twice this season and there was another time it happened during Figthon's league. Ghost in the machine or self-awareness!

And today's schedule for week 11 - times represent Dee Nee time. Errors are set to 14 and the mercy rule threshold has been moved to 12 runs instead of 13.

Teams that were home/visitor in the first half have been flipped for the second half, i.e., The Empire was away vs the Spiders in week 2 and now The Empire will be at home. Also bear in mind that all teams are facing the other SP this time around in the second half.

The wild throw to third from the outfield happened twice in my game, and it always makes me nervous on offense - while it's generally a free run, it also is a terrific recipe for a TOOTBLAN when the trailing runner tries to advance from second. I often think I'd rather just have runners at the corners than a run in and a 50/50 shot of either a man on third or bases empty and an extra out.

Swinging Dicks demolish and mercy rule first place Hulk Hogans in 7 and win 2nd straight. Hulk Hogans lose 2nd straight by way of mercy rule, now share first place with Montreal.

McGwire blasts a pair of HR (second in the league) & ties FRBI RBI record with 9, Lou Brock goes 5/6 with 2 2B/5R/2RBI, DiMaggio shines with 5H, HR, Marris hit a pair of HR, and Clemens has outstanding pitching performance with 2 significant Ks with runners in scoring position.

ERA leader M.Scott gets torched and WFord struggled as well against a motivated Swinging Dicks hitters.

Ryno bewilderingly benches Lou Brock immediately after his 5 hit game.

The Empire aid the misery to the Cleveland Spiders with the season's quickest mercy rule game. Empire now on 3-game winning streak. AlDark's huge day (3H, 2HR, 2B, 4RBI) carries Empire. Drysdale masterful in 3 quick innings.

The Cleveland Spiders currently have worst losing percentage in the history of the FRBI League after 11 games and are on track to be the worst team in FRBI history.

Montreal Exposé have easy time with Steely Dans Revenge and move back into first place by tiebreaker.

Mantle homerless for first time this year, but Reggie Jackson (5RBI, 2HR, 3B 4H) and BWilms hit a pair of shots.  WSpahn pitches complete game in strong outing and lowers is ERA for the third straight game.

Steely Dans Revenge get miserable day from Dawson (1-5, 0RBI) and once again couldn't explode for a big inning. Pitching good enough this game, but still last in the league (19.53) and not a good measure in any league despite what Tempo told the media that his pitching was good enough by most measures.

That is really bad. Guidry is 14-28 and that meant extra at-bats and some bleeder rbi's. Dyrs is 5-14 for a .357 clip. I need to create a stat to see how often teams win when the pitcher has 2,3,4 hits and so on. I'll look at the pitcher's hitting stats and see who's raking or not ... as far as a pitcher. Pitchers getting hits are damn killers.

Anyways, been trying to fix a mistake in the U7-BFB game I am scoring and it's taking me forever since the program isn't smooth when I have to go back and fix a human input error early in the game. I had to do a few innings over and then a double entry happens when I thought I did everything right. So right now it has a ph not showing getting an at-bat and a sp having too many at-bats. If I can't fix it, I'll just post the inaccurate and fix the stats in the database since I am not about to spend another hour trying to fix it.

As soon as I get the last two games scored and posted, I'll post the updated team standings and schedule for week 12. Week 12 will happen today at 4pm Dee Nee time. I'm at work and got the time on my hands.

Also, I'm fairly certain I will be a new laptop tomorrow and that'll mean we'll be going Twitch live hopefully for week 13 or 14  - depending how soon I can figure out Twitch.

I didn't look at the stats before posting that.  But in my defense, my team has a lot of scoreless innings (both hitting and pitching).  The downfall is that the pitching will give up no runs for three straight innings and then give up 8 runs in one inning and 6 in another.  It's very all or nothing

Yeah, it seems like that with the constant big innings your staff gives up after a string of good innings. Then the huge problem is that your offense rarely has big innings or a string of semi rallies in consecutive innings. Doran and Bando are killing you, and then it just seems that the timely hits don't come and when they do come, the pitching falls apart. Maybe things can turn around if the random generator is kind to you. After the season, I may try and post some extra stats like scoring by inning for the season or how total times a team scored more than a X# of runs scored and surrendered in an inning. But hey man, Fighton got crippled by Foster's slow start and if the random generator is kind to him, maybe he has another win or two. You have lost some close games and you could easily be in the logjam right now, but the RBI gods aren't being nice to you, unfortunately.

This MWills for the Hulksters is hitting way over .500. I don't get it.

U7 hold Blue Footed Boobies at bay and move into 4-way logjam tie for third place with total team effort - Lazzri has big day from the 8-hole. Blue Footed Boobies lined into 2  double plays and grounded into one to cripple big innings potential. Blue Foots have hit into 7 double plays the past two games. Pitching inconsistent struggles now a concern for nomaaa.

It helps that I can't be working out like Rocky right now since I got overtraining syndrome again, so it helps me to rest as well. Once we go Twitch then that'll be so much more exciting by going live. Yeah about the pace, I'm like you guys, I want more games and want to see how this plays out! The baseball program has made everything easier and quicker ... as long as I don't make dumb mistakes. Also, there's so many different stats my database can generate. I just need to take the time to generate those stats and post it. This cut and paste stuff is the only annoying thing about the season.

Season's first extra inning game goes 11, Purple Reign prevail in a thriller.

DwMurphy left stranded at third base after hitting leadoff triple in the bottom of the 11th. Sutter bears down to K powerful and talented Kingman, then gets Gurrero and Thon out on pop outs to end the marathon. Sides of Beef squandered a bases loaded situation in the bottom of the 8th as well and giving fuel to the media's labeling of the Sides of Beef as lacking the killer instinct.

Nah, Mantle's grand salami changed the momentum of the game. MVP year he's having and he has a knack to hit clutch homeruns or any kind of homer when it's needed most.

U7 blow 7-0 lead after 2 innings and outscored 14-5 the rest of the way.

Sizzling hot Empire quickly route Purple Reign and win 4th straight behind outstanding team hitting and masterful pitching by ERA league leader Guidry. Empire surge into 3rd place. Hack Wilson hits longest shot of the year, measured at 848 feet.

DwEvns traded for Lou Brock in a trade before the week 14 deadline. Social media goes abuzz about the positives and negatives about the trade details for both the Empire and Swinging Dicks

Sleep walking and down 9-2 in the 5th to the Swinging Dicks, Mickey Mantle awakens Montreal Exposé with grand slam, sparking 9-run rally. Swinging Dicks leading 13-12 in the 8th, Reggie Jackson whacks 3-run go-ahead homerun. Montreal's bullpen takes over and holds Swinging Dicks. Exposé outscore the Dicks 8-3 down the stretch.

McGwire blasts 4 homeruns and now second in the league with 22, 3 behind Mantle's league leading 25. Mantle and McGwire tied for the RBI lead at 46.

Lou Brock traded to the Empire for DwEvns. Social media suggesting Brock not popular in Swinging Dick's clubhouse.

Playoff hopes remain alive for Steely Dans Revenge after marathon win over Sides Of Beef. McCrmk pitches deep into extra innings, allows no runs and pitches a perfect 12th to end the never-ending ballgame. SBando (.310) hits tiebreaking HR barely just over the RF wall in the top of the 12th. Now has 6 HR and 9 RBI! Steely Dans must win victory keeps them in striking distance and only two games back for the wildcard 8th seed and play-in birth.

Sides Of Beef lose second straight extra inning game - a FRBI first. Media once again focus on lack of ability to put teams away for Sides Of Beef. The game sets the all-time record of 12 innings for a FRBI regular season game.

THREE CONSECUTIVE INNINGS where one run wins the game, and we can't do it. Got a guy to third once, I think. It's mind bottling.

Luis Tiant has also been a DISASTER lately and would 100% have been dropped for someone off the street after that game if this league had free agents.

Down 15-14, Blue Foot Boobies use 5-run 8th sparked by RSanto's go-ahead homerun to take 19-15 lead and go on to win 19-16 behind a DzDean save. Cepeda and RSanto both hit a pair of homeruns and both drove in 5 runners. Blue Foot bullpen only surrendered 1 run which proved to be one of the key factors to victory.

The Cleveland Spiders squandered leads of 10-2 and 14-9 as they continue to find creative ways to lose. In the history of FRBI 12-game seasons, no team ever finished below 5 wins. On a promising note, Foster continues to swing a hot stick and has raised his average almost .200 points over the past 3 games. And BBonds with his 855 power now has a surprising 16 HR after hitting two homeruns.

Huge upset by the Spiders.

Humongous! And it was by way of mercy rule! Foster must have gotten his personal issues resolved now because he sure has found his swing. I kept waiting for the Spiders to collapse, but they played with some passion today. GDavis team couldn't handle the pressure of the possibility of losing to the last place team! His team can't handle the bright lights either.

And those Steely Dans are right back in this thing! Wow! I thought Kofax was maybe going to pitch a complete game shutout! Tempo's team is just one game behind the logjam teams at 6-7. So we got a juicy storyline going on there.

And suddenly there's a 4-way tie for 1st place! I didn't have much confidence in my team early on, but after the last lineup change, we've been on fire. Drysdale had a sharp outing and he's finally pitching up to his scouting sims that showed good numbers. I wasn't too confident going in against Beef, but after the "hand of god" error in the 1st inning that helped lead us to a 10 run 1st, well, it fueled Drysdale. That error was crazy because the game was tied with one out, and the fly ball to the CF was a shallow one and I had Aarron on third. That ball is caught, Aarron is doubled out at home since the fly ball was so shallow - could have had a different game because we didn't score much after that.

And how 'bout Lou Brock HOMERING in his first at-bat with the Empire! In fact, that was his first homer of the year! He was thrilled to put on the Empire uniform! Hollywood stuff there! I didn't think we'd ever be in first, but here we are and the Empire is back!

Shooty's team hit into some double play rally killers. I think Shooty's team doesn't put up the same numbers against RH pitchers. I can look up that stat. Mantle dropped a couple of bombs in his first two at-bats, but that was it. That big inning never came for the Exposé. U7 showed his team is dangerous and can beat anybody on any given day. I kept waiting for Shooty's team to go on a Warriors style run, but it never came. It seems weird that Shooty's team isn't scoring more with so much power in his lineup. I should take a look again at his numbers, but I think maybe some of his big 900+ hitters aren't putting up the HR numbers that commands +920 power.

This season has taken a life on its own and creating these storylines and all the ups and downs for everybody. Love it!

I am researching to buy a new laptop right now. I pretty much have to write stuff down as far as the tech aspects for which laptop is the best all-around. The main thing is to broadcast on Twitch without any streaming hiccups, but then I don't want strictly a gaming laptop since that would be dumb because I am only using the NES emulator. And then the stupid warehouse has to carry the laptop I want - this isn't America when it comes to everything available in the tech sector. But I think I have a good idea which to buy and yes, it'll cost, but it'll be worth it once I broadcast these games Twitch live.

Cleveland Spiders shock Hulk Hogans in mercy rule blowout. Spiders snap 4-game losing streak and still have a gleam of hope for playoffs (3 games back for a wildcard birth with 5 to play). George Foster continues hitting terror with 5 hits and 3 homerun effort - hit 2 HR in first 7 games, now has hit 9 in the last 6 games. Doerr continues surprising and successful season with 4 H, HR, & 4 RBI. Ryan Express has strong outing, Tudor doesn't collapse.

Game tied 9-9 in the bottom of the 6th, McCovy hits go-ahead HR to spark a 6-run rally - Spiders then piled on to mercy rule victory - players storm Tudor on the mound after shocking victory.

Empire's 10-run 1st and Drysdale's strong outing carry the Empire to 5th straight win, now tied for 1st place. Lou Brock hits first HR of the year in debut at-bat for the Empire, collects 3 hits. HWilson and Aarron have big day at the plate. RCey and JDavis continue to swing hot bats. The Empire have outscored opponents 45-14 in last 3 games.

Sides Of Beef' CF DwMurphy commits costly error in the 1st, leads to 8 unearned runs and 10-run 1st inning rally for the Empire. Sides Of Beef now on 3-game losing streak.

Koufax pitches 4R/11H masterpiece in 8 innings, doesn't allow a run until the 7th. Dawson blasts two homeruns, Banks and DMurphy homer - the jumbo 3 combine for 12 RBI. The Steely Dans Revenge win second straight, now won 3 of their past 4, only 1 game behind for the wildcard 8th seed with 5 games to go.

DwEvns goes 2-4 in his debut for the Swinging Dicks. McGwire fails to homer, RMarris only goes 1-4, and the 6-9 spots in the line up only get 2 hits in 15 at-bats.

"Knucksie" Niekro and Catfish Hunter combine to limit the #1 scoring team in the league to their 2nd lowest scoring output of the year. U7's 4th inning 9-run rally demoralized the high scoring Exposé. WMays hits a pair of doubles and HRs with 3 RBI, Horner crosses home plate 4 times and drives in 3, Yaz hits 4 doubles, and the Thrill goes 5/6. U7 now in 5th place. But it was Niekro who set the tone with his strong outing against an explosive Exposé lineup. U7 went on 16-3 run between the 3rd and 6th.

League leading HR leader, Mantle, hits another two homeruns, but fails to reach base again going 0-4 the rest of the way and hit into two double plays. Exposé hits into 3 double plays as things just didn't go their way against a U7 pitching staff who had one of their better days (8th in ERA). Gehrig went hitless and now only hitting .514 - performing below expectation.

darky, when you say you "dont want strictly a gaming laptop" i'm not quite sure what you mean.
the 'gaming' aspects of a computer are going to be the upgrades that you really pay for, and theres nothing to stop you from doing other things on it. theres certainly some different types of performance laptops, but i don't think you'll be doing much or any of the things where ou'd have to discern what type of performance you're looking for.

you want a decent gpu & cpu to run and stream games, but NES doesn't really call for much

That makes sense nomaaa. I made some wrong assumptions when I googled top laptops to stream Twitch and that took me to top laptops for gamers and then I ended up on top all-around laptops. I basically want high performance and max capacity everything. The brands are ones I am unfamiliar with, so that sort of stumbled me since I generally like to stick with Lenovo or HP. But hey, I'll be getting the best all-around out there and I don't care what brand - as long as it is not Chinese.

And I'm scoring your game right now - taking a few!

Season's highest scoring game features 71 hits and 51 runs. Blue Foot Boobies prevail in hitting fest with RSanto's GWH.

5 hitters, Canseco, Adcock, Cedeno, TWilliams, Bench, hit multiple homeruns. Canseco and Bench register 3 HR - Adcock blasts 4 HR tying him with Mantle for season high in a game.

Purple Reign out-homer Blue Foots, 11-6, but Blue Foots hit 15 doubles to Purple Reigns 6. Fuentes' big day featured 2 doubles and 2 triples, 5 hits and 4 runs from the 8th hole. TWilliams goes 6/7, 7 RBI, 2 HR, and 2 doubles. Adcock's huge day gave him 8 RBI and Cedeno went yard twice and drove in 6.

Purple Reign down 12-2 after 4 innings, then 19-11 after the 6th. Courageously fought back to take a 21-19 lead in the 7th. Lead exchanges 3 times down the stretch with the Blue Footed Boobies showing strong will to win it in the end.

Blue Footed Boobies move into 1st place tie with Montreal, Hulksters, and the Empire. Purple Reign lose second straight and now find themselves in survival position for the playoffs, but still in reach of a bye during WildCard round.

3:00 p.m. Dee Nee time Week 14 goes down for our boys of summer!

The games will go in the precise order that you see in the schedule. So when game 1 is done, I start recording with the final score/newspaper clip showing and then reset the rom so I can start game 2 while recording - and the rest follows accordingly. That's the best I can do for authenticity right now.

This will be the last slate where I record games directly after each other which means it's only live for me. I'm at work today and I won't be able to go to the tech store to get a new laptop, but the plan is to do it tomorrow. So that means for week 15, we'll be going live on Twitch for the games, but I'll still post each individual game on YouTube. Also to insure authenticity and integrity, I am appointing Fighton as quality control. What I mean is that when I go Twitch live for the games, I'll go to nightwulf's RBI Editor to download the game rom and then load it into the rom while live on Twitch.

I will also export the player stats text file and post it to the stats thread while on record/Twitch live and the link will look like this: http://nightwulf.rbicentral.com/cgi-bin/rbi-editor2/rbi-editor.pl?action=textdump (http://nightwulf.rbicentral.com/cgi-bin/rbi-editor2/rbi-editor.pl?action=textdump)

Doing that will give anybody the opportunity to make sure the players attributes are precise and match the original Arcade ROM. So with these measures in place, everybody can feel secure and confident that there is no invisible hand trying to influence or control the outcomes of the games. I am running the league and I also have a team in the league, so I would like that there is system in place to ensure the games are authentic as well as the players' attributes/stats.

Hopefully I can figure out Twitch asap on my new laptop so there isn't a long delay until week 15.

What a weird final play in my game. I've never seen that before.

Never seen it either and what a way to end the game! Your Spiders are still in it - LET'S WIN THE WHOLE GODDAMN THING!
Your boys took down the Hulksters and now the Exposé in consecutive games with your backs to the wall. Shooty must have went through different stages of emotions, from rage to depression! Another odd sequence I witnessed was in the bottom of the 6th. You had Bonds on first and somebody else at third. Bonds attempted to steal second, but Morgan hit a liner to the 3rd baseman. The 3rd baseman caught it and threw it to the wall. The runner on third scored before Bonds was doubled up at first - never seen that either. You stole a quick run before the inning ended. Shooty must have went livid apeshit, haha.

Lots to say here, but I succeeded in getting a new laptop today - Dee Nee! I got the processor I need to do the things I need to do with no lags, and of course to broadcast Twitch. Now I just gotta configure a bunch of shit and move over the BallStat/BallScore program and season stats to my new laptop. Hopefully nothing odd happens in transferring from my extra hard drive. The stats and all that are fine since I just put in my extra hard drive, but the program itself was downloaded to my old laptop. So we'll see if it goes smooth as far as the paths set on the new laptop. The big headache will be trying to figure out Twitch, but I'll get it done. Hopefully I'll have it figured out tomorrow for Week 15.

Yeah, my Empire didn't bring the sticks yesterday. The pitching was spectacular, but my RP bullpen isn't the strongest part of my team, and we've been able to avoid them with complete games or the second SP going the rest of the way and of course those 2 quick mercy rule wins I had during our 5-game winning streak. Gibson and Koufax and Strassy's bullpen were on point yesterday. This McCrmk is the real deal from the pen. And Tempo's guys were playing with their backs to the wall in an almost must win situation. I don't know what he told his guys or what Steely Dan song he now plays in the locker room, but they are on a roll and now in position to avoid the 6th, 7th, or 8th seed ... if they keep winning.

And Gehrig had a HUGE day for Ryno - I think he blasted 4 of them!

Nomaaaa team has now been coined the Kardiac Kids! How many 1-run games does he keep winning along with those comebacks in the clutch?!?!

Beef and Nacho's team - the free fall continues. And crazy that Shooty's team is on a 2-game skid. I think his players don't like living in Canada.

We got juicy storylines right now!

Recaps to come throughout the day. We'll shoot for week 15 tomorrow.

Team stats and team leader stats - I'll do my best. Gonna be a busy day getting Twitch in order and the configuration of shit, along with a visit to the gym. But this is my focus gentlemen!

Got a Lenovo ideapad L340 today - working brilliantly so far, but some issues with creating the proper paths for the scorebook/stat program from my external harddrive. Twitch is ready to go, just need to choose between Twitch Studio Beta or OBS. My new laptop had the hardware for Twitch Studio Beta, but should I go OBS? The pain in the ass will be running an actual Twitch stream as a test and having it go okay. Lotta steps to go through to set everything up.

Steely Dans Revenge surge into 3-way tie for WildCard playoff spot with third straight win. Clutch 9th inning hitting and pitching seals victory of the Empire. With the game tied at 8 in the 9th, Banks and Dawson hit back to back doubles to take 9-8 lead, TPerez then blasts second HR of the day to increase the lead to 11-9. McCrmk preserves the lead and picks up 3rd win with only 1 run allowed against the Empire's middle of the lineup. Entire Steely Dan pitching staff was spectacular.

Empire's five game winning streak comes to an end with paltry hitting throughout the lineup, drop into third place by tiebreaker with Montreal.

With backs to the wall, Cleveland Spiders shock Montreal Exposé to remain alive for the playoffs. Second straight victory over first place team. Spiders outhomer/outscore the #1 team in homers/scoring, get solid pitching and clutch hitting down the stretch to secure victory. Game ends on rare wild double play.

Montreal loses second straight - longest losing streak of the year for them. Shooty declines to talk to media.

Spiders now 4-4 at home, 0-6 on the road. Hand of God guides curving ball down the RF line into fair territory for B.Bonds 17th HR.

Swinging Dicks move into 5th place, U7 slide into 6th place. Swinging Dicks out-homer U7 9-2. McGwire quietly threatening Mantle's 28 HR lead by hitting a pair of shots - now at 24 HR.

U7 hurts themselves by hitting into 3 double plays, fittingly the last DP ends game. Horner goes impressive 6/6.

Blue Foot Boobies now dubbed Kardiac Kids with penchant for late inning heroics. Down 14-13, Blue Foots get GWHR from Orlando Cepeda, also his third of the game. Cepeda's RBI tally at 8.Blue Foots now on 3-game winning streak and tied for 1st place with the Hulksters, but in 2nd by tiebreaker.

Sides Of Beef now at risk of missing playoffs with 4th straight loss. RBI analysts suggest back-to-back extra inning losses devastated psyche of team.

Mike Scott steals the day, deals 13H/5R CG masterpiece as Hulk Hogans regain first place. Scott's impeccable location and change of speeds kept Purple Reign defensive at the plate. DJohnsn carries offense with 3 HR/8RBI.

Purple Reign now on 3-game skid, tied for WildCard playoff spot and in risk of missing playoffs.

Game time is at 3pm as mentioned on the last page - schedule is also found on the last page.

I sort of figured out Twitch. I did manage to run a test stream and fit the emulator in the Twitch screen, but now I don't remember how I did that - so back to work on  that. We'll go live, but expect a cluster fuck to happen. After the live stream, I'll do as I normally do and post all the recorded games from YouTube about 75 minutes after the slate is done. Well, back to this learning process and hopefully the live stream will be a success today!

Here is my Twitch channel so you guys or guy can tune in at 3pm Dee Nee time: https://www.twitch.tv/ynot333

you need to figure out how to make the emulator fulfill screen instead of streaming the editor window

do you have an LCD monitor? i suggest plugging one into your laptop and using it as a second screen

No LCD monitor. I actually can go full screen through the window capture in the source box. Game capture I might be able to do, but haven't tested to see if the emulator only shows if I change windows such as go to a chrome tab or in my folders. Window capture follows every little step I take fro what I saw when I ran a test stream and watched it live on my phone. Sleeves are rolled up right now and will run a couple more test live streams so I can get a good handle on this and have it down unconsciously. I got about 2 hours left to command this mofo before we go Twitch live. I put up the scheduled time on my Twitch account.

Week 15 - our boys of summer.

There was a 8 minute delay while live on Twitch. Sorry about that. I changed a setting in the emulator and it screwed everything big time. Got the issue fixed after 8 minutes! Also, the Steely Dans-U7 game is split into two videos because while streaming live on Twitch, I tried to go big screen on the emulator and the recording stopped once I did that. I have to keep it minimized to fit into the Twitch screen ... growing pains with this new platform for me. Otherwise, Twitch was a success and we even had some in-game small comments during the games. Thanks for watching guys!

Can you possibly not have the screen captures show the scores in the middle of the game? It kind of ruins the drama of the first few innings (you can choose which screenshot is used in the video settings, I think).

Also: YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!

You got it! I was aware of choosing among screenshots, and when all screen shots have scores, I just chose the one with a tight score. Before I used a fixed screenshot of the opening screen when the rom starts, so I'll do that if all I get are scores for screenshots - may bad amigo and holy shit your boys are rolling! LET'S WIN THE WHOLE GOD DAMN THING!!"!111

The Empire got divine intervention from the Force - hand of God! It was that consecutive walk glitch that we saw in the Super RBI league and it happened to the same pitcher again - Valenzuela! Last time, he walked 8 straight batters and that led to an Old Stylers win over Ryno's Pabst Blue Ribbons. This time around, I think we were up by one or the game was tied, and Fernando walked 10 straight batters, lol! I moved the cursor around to try and stop it, but didn't help. Fortunately some idiot swung and broke the stream of balls. I believe both teams it happened came after a pinch hitter was inserted, then Fernando came in the game and he just threw the same pitch, far inside, forever. Seriously, sucks to see that happen to anyone, but I'm just glad it didn't to the Empire - the Force was with us! Nomaaa has to be devastated!

So the last three slates, weeks 16-18, will decide a lot with many key games to decide first round byes, and of course who gets the last 8th wildcard spot for the play-in format. Wide open right now! Some ugly losing streaks going for Beef and Nacho. Fighton gained a game on the teams he needs to gain a game. U7 put themselves in a good position to clinch a playoff spot.

That string of walks glitch though! It happened again and to the same pitcher! The game was tied in the 8th ... man, you must have been pissed being struck with bad luck. Hand of god blessed the Empire! It was a great game until that glitch. Sucks to win that way, but we'll take it!

How are there first round byes when eight teams make the playoffs?

#1 & #2 automatically advance to the final four.
#3 & #4 automatically advance to qtr finals (#1 & #2 still get byes)
#8 & #7 will have a one game playoff and that is the wildcard round of the playoffs ... or play-in. 1-game do-or-die game. Higher seed chooses home or away.
The winner of #8 & #7 play #6 in a 1-game playoff. The winner of #7 & #6 advance to the qtr finals as the 6th seed.Higher seed chooses home or away.
Quarter finals: #6 vs #3, #4 vs #5 - five game series. Higher seed chooses home or way.
Semi finals: #1 plays the lower seed from the winner of the games mentioned above. #2 plays the higher seed. 5-game series - higher seed chooses home or away.
FRBI World Series: 7-game series, higher seed chooses home or away.

The play-in round/wildcard round will play live until the 6th seed is determined, i.e., the same day.
Qtr finals, semi finals, and FRBI WS - how many games played on the same day from each series will be determined. I can't blitzkrieg through a series since we need the stats and recaps from the games, so that is up in the air. A playoff thread will be created sooner or later.

Charlie Hustle's go-ahead pinch hit RBI single in the bottom of the 7th ignites the Spiders to 3rd straight victory, now 1 game back for playoff spot. Up 11-9 in the 8th, Spiders rally for 8 runs to run away from a tight contest. Spiders hit an impressive fury of doubles BBonds 2(12), McCovy 4(17), B.Ruth 3(13), Durham 2(11) and triples BBonds 1(3),
Morgan1 (10), LGrove1 (1), to fly around the bases. Swinging Dicks only hit 2 doubles and 0 triples. Lefty Grove picks up save after a flawless 8th and turbulent 9th.

McGwire blasts 2 more HRs to put him 3 behind Mantel (29 HR) for the HR title. McGwire now at 26. Swinging Dicks remain in good position for the playoffs with only the Spiders gaining a game on them.

With game tied 14-14 in the bottom of the 7th, U7 get HR's from Mays, Ott, Horner, & Yaz with a WClark double sandwiched in there. U7 score 2 more in the 8th and hold off a last gasp rally by Steely Dans Revenge. WClark, Horner, & Yaz each collect 5 hits, YBerra drove in 5 runners on a 4-hit day with two doubles.

U7 sit alone in 5th place. Steely Dans in 9th counting run differential tiebreaker: tied at 6-9 with SOB and PR for the Wildcard last playoff spot.

I'm scoring the game right now, and Spahn's rbi single with two outs in the second inning led to a string of hits and 5 runs. Then go look at his infield RBI double in the 5th inning! He hit a super slow rolling ball towards the SS,but the SS covered 3rd and the 3rd baseman wasn't in range to pick up the ball when he was moving forward - the LF finally came in to field the ball and Rabbit managed to zip home and score! It was actually a thing of beauty - the speed game! Pitcher's getting hits are killers at least 80 percent of the time. I am positive teams win 95 percent of the time if their pitchers get 3 hits or more.

Hosed at home in the first inning so far. I do recall a few more happening later in the game from yesterday. Scoring the game now. And now I just saw Winfield get gunned down at home from the RF.

Exposé snap two game skid, tally 40 hits, rake 22 extra basehits, and pull away from Purple Reign. Mantle reaches 30 HR with 2 more, tallying 7 hits and 8 RBI. Billy Williams also gets 7 hits while Reggie also has big day - 6/7, 4 2B, HR. Spahn extends many innings with 5 hit performance from the 9-hole - demoralizes Purple Reign pitchers.

Purple Reign fought back all game, but couldn't keep up with Exposé firepower. 2 runners putout at home and 1 at 3rd base ended potential big innings. Purple Reign extend losing streak to 4. Adcock shines with 5 hits and raises average to .716 - first in the league.

Hulk Hogans get dominant bullpen pitching and just enough runs after a 5-run 5th to go up 12-9 for the win. MScott(W 6-2)
Worrel, & Rghtti combine to only allow 6 hits and 1 run in 5 innings from the bullpen. FLynn carries the load with 5/5, 5 RBI & hits for the cycle at the plate. Down 9-7 in the bottom of the 5th, Hulksters unleash array of doubles to go up 12-9 and that's how the score stayed the rest of the way. Mike Scott now #1 in ERA (Guidry #2). Both will start against each other today for week 16.

Sides of Beef lose 5th straight, but remain in 7th place via tiebreaker. Will face Montreal today in a key game for both teams. Sides of Beef struggling on offense after explosive start to the year, now last in the league in average, but tied for #2 in runs.

Tight contest between Empire & Blue Foot Boobies seemingly settled by the Force/Hand of God/Ghost in the machine. Game tied at 16 in the top of the 8th, Fernando Mania can't find plate and goes on to walk 9 straight batters on a stream of consecutive balls in a rare glitch. Empire blessed by glitch, Vader describes the Force being with the Empire. Nomaaaa yelled at reporters suggesting Lord Vader used some form of Dark Side force power.

Blue Foot Boobies appeared to be on easy path to victory after 8-run rally in the 6th to go up 15-7. The Empire quickly responds with a 9-run rally in the top of the 7th, showing resilience. Kardiac Kids had no magic after the rare consecutive walk glitch and in part to Goose Gossage's good outing in relief to limit the Blue Foots.

Some crazy scoring for all the games except one and that's gonna take some time to score. Unbelievable game between the Empire and Hulksters - I was expecting a lower scoring game than that - everybody was hitting! Guidry and MScott, the top two in ERA in the league both got hammered. I thought we were done once the Hulksters took a good lead later in the game, but the Force is strong with this Empire team. I thought for sure Bourbon would blow the game since he's not very good if his balls don't sink, but somehow how slammed the door on GDavis. This slates of games are weird at times, some weeks all the games are low scoring, then others it's high scoring. And did Mantle hit 5 HRs today? Fuck, he's impossible to pitch to.

Nobody viewed live while I was streaming the games  :-\ Nobody in the chat room. Oh well, but of course people have lives in the middle of the day.

The playoff scenarios are still wide open, albeit a bit tighter for the teams looking to get the 7th and 8th spot. Fortunately the schedule is fittingly perfect because there'll be some great matchups for the fitting teams to decide all that. Playoff thread will be created right after the season. Week 17 will play on Friday, the the finale will play on Sunday, possibly Saturday. Playoffs will begin either Monday or Tuesday.

I can say now that week 17 will go live on Twitch on Friday at noon, Dee Nee time. Depending on the games and how fast I score them, then Saturday could be the finale. If not Saturday, then Sunday.

Slugfest between top two scoring teams lives up to hype, Sides of Beef narrowly edges Exposé 25-24 in 10 innings.

JTorre (16C/870P) slams 4 HR, tallies 6 hits and 7 RBI in career day. Kingman (32C/975P) blasts 3 HR & registers 8 RBI. Gullet picks up win in 2 IP/3 ER. Sides of Beef finally get over the extra inning obstacle to win, shows killer instinct that was absent during 5-game losing streak. Sides of Beef now in sole possession of 7th place - good enough for a wildcard round birth if season ended today. Owner BeefMaster ecstatic after long awaited win to snap out of funk. Sides of Beef show championship potential.

Mantle (13C/924P) sets FRBI Arcade record with two consecutive games with 7 hits and hitting 5 HR in one game. Ties own record of 9 RBI in one game (also tied with Adcock). Mantle now a lock to win HR and RBI title. Triple Crown within reach with two games to go. Montreal Exposé comes up short, hurt by double plays and bottom of lineup. Montreal drop to 4th place with painful loss. Owner Shooty livid about Torre having career day and being ugly - trends #1 on Twitter.

Slugfest featured 9 total strikeouts, FRBI record.

Joltin Joe inserted into the leadoff spot, responds with 5-7, 3 HR, 6 RBI effort. JClark thrives in the 2-hole with 2 HR, 4 hits, 5 RBI. Swinging Dicks power too much for Purple Reign, outhomering Purple Reign 11-3. Clemens now #2 in the Arcade league in ERA.

Anticipated pitcher's duel and low scoring game turns into high scoring shootout. Empire get career day from Alvin Dark, key hits from the bench, and outscore the Hulksters 15-7 down the stretch to prevail 29-23 - merge 3-way tie for first.

Al Dark leads Empire hitters with 8 RBI in 4 hit career day, including 2 HR, 2B, 3B, 4R. Longtime Empire team captain, Hammerin Hank, and HWilson each hit a pair of HRs. Providing a spark, the Empire's bench goes 3-4 with 3 runs. With a 29-23 lead, Borbon pitches scoreless 9th for first win of the year. Lineup change by Darth Vader produces highest scoring total for Empire and finally producing in the later innings.

Hulk Hogans hurt by demoralizing line drive double play in the ninth, preventing possibly more runs and the win. Lmbrdi continues to have magical year, hitting way above his weight. Same for Jody Davis. Both teams clinch playoff spots.

Fernando's 8th inning K changes momentum of tight game, Blue Foot Boobies go on to run away from Steely Dans with 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th, Fernando does the rest in front of electric crowd. Fernando recovers from consecutive walk glitch as well.

OSmith hits league leading 11th triple to go along with 4 runs/3 RBI and 4 hits. Fuente (30C/720P) continues magical over-achieving year with 3 triples (3rd best in the league) and 4 hits, and Fernando contributes with RBI triple. RSanto leads Blue Foots with 2 HR and 6 RBI, Bench chips in with a pair of blasts and 5 RBI. Bottom of Blue Foots lineup contribute in huge way. Blue Foots having championship look.

Steely Dans still in hunt for playoff spot, will need to win 1 of last two with help. Two wins with help also in the cards. Steely Dans blew early 11-4 lead and down the stretch - demoralized by RSanto inning ending strikeout when down 20-19 with runners at the corners in the 8th. Murphy has big day with 6/6 performance, but Steely Dan pinch hitters struggled. Key game vs the Spiders upcoming in week 17 - must win for both teams.

Willie Mays 8th inning grand slam puts game out of reach as U7 barely breaks a sweat in 17-9 win over the Spiders. U7 wins second straight and possibly ends Spiders late season Cinderella run. U7 clinches playoff birth and moves into 5th place, still in position to win regular season title. Spiders on brink of elimination, will have to win their last two and need a bit of help for playoff birth.

PNiekro pitches solid 5 innings in long relief, adds 2 hits and 2 RBI. Mays hits a pair of homeruns and Yaz contributes with 5 hits. U7 just too much for the Spiders. Spiders offense absent in crucial must win game - credit U7's pitching staff for superb day on the bump.

I've never seen that before and it was a shocker! It happens at third when a runner gets chased back and tagged out before reaching third, then the runner on third decides to take off and get tagged out. But I've never ever seen that happen at second.

Drysdale brought his good stuff today and we got some heroic efforts from JDavis and AlDark and Borbon. Crazy. JDavis must have had 4-5 hits I think. I don't know if there's a glitch with him, but if not for him, I'm not sure we are where we are right now. He's a 801 guy hitting mostly bleeding singles and clutch hits and some HR's at the right time. I didn't even scout him, so I had no idea. I thought there was no way Borbon was going to hold Shooty's heart of the lineup scoreless in the bottom of the 9th, but this team has some heart and a will to win.

And the final playoff spot is wide open between the Spiders, Steely Dans, and Purple Reign. The top 7 are locked in the playoffs right now. So the finale on Sunday will decide the final playoff spot. And a lot will be decided when the Purple Reign meet the Spiders. Steey Dan will have the tough task of beating the Hulksters. Those three teams have the same record right now.

Well, better to miss a couple batters than being Heidi'd gamed! Actually while live on Twitch, I went big screen on the emulator and consequently the game stopped recording. Fortunately I caught it quickly and started recording again. If you need to see the missed batters, you can watch your game again on my Twitch channel and hear my commentary when I fucked up with that, haha! Hey man, you guys beat Purple Reign and if the Steely Dans lose to the Hulksters, you're in!

Here's the standings before I unload on the recaps and boxscores. Also, I have 1 new follower on my channel and he's not from the forum. My channel clearly describes I'm all about RBI fantasy and simulations - also promote nightwulf editor and dee nee.com. So pretty cool that we got somebody else following the Arcade league! Post game gibberish shot of me. And BeefMaster, that funny look I am making when you screenshot'd me - I was trying to see the screen without my glasses! I need to squint to see, haha!

U7 wake up "dangerous", quickly dismantle Purple Reign in 4 innings via mercy rule, now on 3-game winning streak with outside shot for automatic semi-final birth. Purple Reign losing streak now at 6, still in position for #8 seed in the Wildcard round with win over Cleveland Spiders.

U7's Phil Niekro was in form and had command of all his pitchers. Put simply, U7 overwhelmed the Purple Reign. Purple Reign's locker room appears to have conflict - rumors swirling that players are not happy about GM Nacho calling them bitches to the media.

Down 20-16 in the 8th, Pete Rose sparks Cleveland Spiders with 8th inning leadoff pinch hit homerun, spurs Spiders on 8-0 run the last two innings to win 24-20. Spiders make the playoffs with season finale win over Purple Reign no matter how the Steely Dans Revenge vs Hulk Hogans game turns out - Spiders hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Steely Dans.

Steely Dans Revenge blew 18-10 lead after 6 innings, outscored 14-2 down the stretch. Steely Dans scored 10 runs in the first inning, game looked like on way to being mercy rule blowout, but Spiders once again come back from the dead. Durham and Doerr deliver with clutch homeruns and production from the bottom of the lineup. LGrove and Richrd pitched lights out from the bullpen -allowed zero runs and only three hits.

Steely Dans win against the Hulksters in the season finale, they are in they can make up the difference of a -19 run differential deficit to the Purple Reign if the Reign win against the Spiders.

After 3 innings and the Blue Foot Boobies leading 6-5, Hulksters run wild and outscore the Blue Foots 15-2 in the next three innings in route to a 20-6 mercy rule blowout. Fred Lynn blasts a pair with 4 RBI in 5/5 showing at the plate. Mike Scott rebounds after turbulent Empire outing and was back to his spectacular self - now #1 in the Arcade lead in ERA.

With season sweep over Blue Foots, Hulk Hogans have inside track for semi-final birth, almost a lock with run differential advantage over U7 if U7 win season finale against the Sides of Beef. Will gain #1 seed with win over Steely Dans in regular season finale and Empire loss, or if both Hulksters and Empire win, Hulksters will need to make up a -24 run differential deficit to the Empire.

Blue Foots can do no better than a #3 seed and can do no worse than a #5 seed.

Sides of Beef use strong pitching from Tiant and Soto along with two big enough innings to win 13-8 over the Swinging Dicks in low scoring game. Sides of Beef took 13-3 lead into the 9th before a last stand effort by the Dicks. Soto now #5 in Arcade league in ERA and showed the Arcade world he can be a force on the mound and into the playoffs. Davey Lopes led BeefMaster's offense with 3 hits - HR, 3B, 2B, 4 RBI, 3 runs. DThon (30C/810P/136S) continues overachieving year with .538 clip and 33 RBI - Thon chipped in with 3 RBI and 1 HR. Sides of Beef have inside track for the 7th seed, improbable to get #6 seed due to run differential deficit.

McGwire in 2-game homerless drought. DEvans and Cronin cripple Dicks hitting with 1-9 combined effort from the middle of the lineup. Clemens looked sharp and appears playoff ready. Swinging Dicks can only gain the 7th seed with win over the Empire and a BeefMaster loss to U7. Sides of Beef hold the head-to-head tiebreaker edge over Ryno's squad. Swinging Dicks can do no worse than the #7 seed.

Down 17-15 and to the final out in the 9th, Empire get clutch hitting from Cey, JDavis, & AlDark to take 19-17 lead into the 9th. Pedro Borbón earns second straight win and save with scoreless 9th - get Reggie and Mathews to ground and lineout with Gehrig on second base.

AlDark went 4/6 with a 2 HR, 2 2B, & 6 RBI to lead the Empire. AlDark hit go-ahead 3-run HR with two outs in the 8th - second consecutive game of hitting 2 HRs. Arcade League singles leader JDavis continues magical season with 5/6 game, hit 4 singles and 1 HR now hitting .617 - +900 power territory. Drysdale was brilliant in his start, now #4 in ERA. Empire clinch semi-final birth.

For the Exposé, Mantle added another homer and 3 more RBI to his league lead. 2-6 performance may have costed him the Triple Crown, but still a lock for league MVP.

#1 team in scoring and homers Exposé quiet with the bats until 8th inning eruption. Radatz only 1-out away from victory and Exposé heart of the lineup couldn't produce in the 9th. Montreal will gain #3 seed with season finale win over the Blue Foots, loss will either land them at #4 or #5.

I fixed the schedule for today since I thought I had switched home-away for the teams who were home or visitor in the first half of the season. 3:30 pm  Dee Nee time is the first pitch on Twitch. The live broadcast will begin about 3:20 pm with some rundowns about the fantasy league, the players, and so on. That's mostly for the new follower who is not from Dee Nee.

Huge games today gentlemen!

Nah, his name is baseballboy079. His banner says "i like baseball". I never saw HotLocalMom during the feed and she's not a follower. I gotta admit, some of the "just chat" streams are pretty cool with people just chatting about everything and nothing from around the world. I watched a good hour of two Cali women (bout 27 years old) just shooting the shit in their pool. Helped that they were good looking.

Game time has been pushed back to 4 PM Dee Nee time. First pitch will be exactly at 4 PM. I doubt I have time to get creative and run an entertaining pregame show with info popping about the league and players, as well as the history of the FRBI league.

I'll re-post the schedule here. And as always, the order of games you see will be the exact order played live on Twitch. After that is done, the upload and editing on YouTube will follow about 20 minutes after here in this thread.

losing due to giving up what I am sure counts as an inside the park home run on a ground ball by Whitey Ford and then watching two guys in a row get picked off at second on singles to RF in the 9th inning is a perfect way to wrap up that season.

7-game losing streak. You guys were looking good at 6-5. Then the pitching just fell apart and the hitting wasn't enough. The Spiders on the other hand were 2-10, and then they closed out the season 5-1 and they went through Montreal and the Hogans in consecutive games - turned their season around. It's weird, it's like the ROM has some kind of awareness of its own!

Your pitching was on until that slow bleeding inside the parker by Whitey. The consecutive 9-6's was crazy and kind of summarized your year - just bad luck.

Errors were set to 10. I set them during pregame on Twitch and mentioned we'll see who the RBI gods punish or bless.

My Empire just couldn't get the big hits to take command. Guidry is in a damn funk right now. We were up 9-7 in the 4th, and then Ryno dropped 10 on us. Hack Wilson is back to hitting singles and my over achievers must have skipped the weight room or something. It was like our team knew we had the bye until the semi finals, and didn't take shit seriously. They're still running wind sprints -AGAIN ... AGAIN ... AGAIN! (Herb Brooks).

So we concluded the regular season in almost 6 weeks - 18 game schedule! Not bad! After I score the games and do the recaps/boxscores and final stats, I'll post a new Playoff thread with the complete lowdown. I can say right now that the WildCard round will take place on the same day. That is, the Spiders will play Beef, and then right after, the winner will take on Ryno's team. The semi-finals, each team will play two games on the same day. The same for the semi-finals and WS. No need to drag out the playoffs.

In do-or-die game between the Spiders and Purple Reign for the last playoff spot to earn a birth into the wildcard playoff round, the Cleveland Spiders get outstanding pitching and timely hitting to win 13-10 and capture the #8 seed.

Entering week 13, the Spiders stood at 2-10 - the worst 12-game stretch in the history of the FRBI league. The Spiders went on to finish the year winning 5 of their last 6 to get in - the turn around started with 3-straight improbable wins over the Hulksters, Exposé, and Swinging Dicks. Purple Reign end their season on a 7-game losing streak - bats silent in the season finale. Purple Reign finish 9th. The Cinderella Spiders will play the Sides of Beef in the first round of the WildCard round.

U7 capture #3 seed and playoff bye with outstanding long relief pitching by Phil Niekro and good all around production from the lineup. PNiekro now fourth best in Arcade league in ERA. U7 end season on 4-game winning streak, look dangerous.

Sides of Beef drop to 7th place and will play the Arcade's Cinderella story, Cleveland Spiders.

Swinging Dicks erupt for 10 runs 4th to go up 17-9, The Rocket (#2 in ERA) takes over from there and shuts down feisty Empire. DwEvans, formerly of the Empire, collects 5 hits in 6 at-bats and hits a shot. Mark McGwire wins batting title. Swinging Dicks gain #6 seed for the WildCard round as well as first round WildCard round bye. Will face winner of Sides of Beef vs Cleveland Spiders WC game on the same day. With new Swedish Snus shipment in hand, Ryno heads awaits with confidence for his WildCard game - players will be snusing during playoff game as part of the new sponsor deal for Ryno's program.

Darkside expresses concern about Guidry's recent pitching struggles the past two games. Guidry dropped from #1 ERA to #5 in past two games. Meanwhile, Drysdale has been strong in the second half, now #3 in ERA. Despite lackluster loss, Empire still earn automatic semi-final birth by finishing second by way of tiebreaker with U7 who had the same record.

Hulk Hogans win Arcade League title by getting by Steely Dans Revenge.  WFord sparks sleeping Hulkster offense with 3-run, slow bleeding, inside the park HR. Hogans outscore Steely Dans 11-3 down the stretch after Whitey Ford's momentum changing insider the parker. Steely Dans Revenge was in control of the game with spectacular pitching until the 7th, couldn't get that big inning to put the game out of reach.

Mike Scott wins ERA title and a lock for Cy Young. Hulksters earn automatic semi-final birth with #1 seed - appear to be strong favorites to win it all.

For the Steely Dans Revenge and GM Tempo, it just wasn't their year. They were 0-2 in 1-run games, and the pitching and hitting just couldn't synchronize to string together the wins they needed.

In a game with not much to play for, the Montreal Exposé quickly routed the Blue Footed Boobies 15-3 in two innings. The Blue Footed Boobies hurt themselves with 5 errors.

Montreal earns the #4 seed and the Blue Foots will be the #5 seed. The two will face off in the second round of the playoffs in a best of 5 series.

Mickey Mantle just missed the Triple Crown, but wins the HR title and RBI title. Also finishes #1 in total hits, XBH, Runs, and Slugging % - Mantle is a lock for Arcade league MVP. Many say his HR record of 38 in 18 games, as well as 78 RBI in 18 games may never be broken.

WildCard round it's one game until the 6th seed is locked. #8 plays #7, then the winner of that directly plays #6 to earn the 6th and birth into the second round.

Then #6 plays #3, and #5 plays #4 in a 5-game series.

The semi finals and World Series will be a 7-game series.

Ghost in the machine. There has to be some hidden code, like a boost or kryptonite hidden attribute. Otherwise, I can only entertain woo-woo theories - like a player not thriving where the team is located in the team slot location in the rom, or hitting in certain spots.

Here's a rundown of all the players with 885 power - contact in parenthesis:

Duke Snider (C10) .489, 12 HR
FRbnsn (C9) .578, 14 HR
Cepeda (C11) .528, 10 HR
DWMurphy (C33) .538, 13 HR
Cmpnla (C12) .543, 11 HR
Dmggio (C14) .552, 15 HR
