Jets?

I'll take requests for you Ryno. Next playoffs I'll see to it that the Jets make it to the playoffs...even if it means running 3-4 seasons on speed skip to get them in the playoffs. After that, I can't help you. The watch playoffs are a sacred thing to me, and handpickin winners takes the fun out of it...but I'm all for handpicking any requests to get to the playoffs, and that's it. The 68 Jets are in both dynasty roms, and they are in a damn tough division.

Okay, results coming shortly.....

75 Steelers 49

The 75 Steelers steamrolled over the 64 Browns 49-10.

Rocky Bleir, Franco Harris, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and John Stallworth cut through the Browns defense like a hot knife going through butter.

The Steel Curtain forced 4 turnovers and held the great Jim Brown to 52 yards rushing.

I don't have any roms that have the 85 and 98 Jets...just the 68 Jets...though I'm thinking the 82 Jets were probabaly the best of the bunch..they got fucked by rainy weather in the AFC championship game against Miami..Richard Todd threw 5 picks cause of that damn rain.. mark_gastineau what!

True, but 85 and 98 are better for video games --- high powered offense and decent enough D.

NFC Divisional Playoffs

66 Packers 41
80 Falcons 24

Vince Lombardi put the game into the hands of backup quarterback Zeke Bratkowski.
Zeke Bratkowski responded by throwing for 362 yards and 4 touchdowns as he led the 66 Packers to a 41-24 triumph. Carrol Dale had an amazing day as he caught 8 passes for 218 yards in which he burned the Falcons single coverage all day.

Bart Starr was out due to injury, and the 80 Falcons game plan was to stop the run and load the box and make Zeke Bratkowski beat them. A fatal mistake indeed. Vince Lombardi showed a lot of flexibility in abandoning the "Lombardi sweep" and going to the air instead of through the Alley.

Vince Lombardi made a brief statement to reporters saying that "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing."

AFC Divisional Playoffs

58 Colts 7
72 Dolphins 0

On a rain drenched day at the Orange Bowl, the 58 Colts defense took advantage of the slippery conditions as they held the 72 Dolphins to 90 yards total offense and zero points.
Johny Unitas scored the games only touchdown on a 12 yard scramble on their opening drive in the first quarter.

Late in the 4th quarter, the 72 Dolphins marched into Cots territory. However, on 4th and 1, the 58 Colts stopped Larry Czonka at the Colts 18 yard line in preserving an impressive shutout victory.

Dave Duerson set the tone of the game on the first play from scrimmage. Duerson intercepted a Montana pass and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown.
The 85 Bears never looked back as they dominated the 89 49ers 41-3.

The celebrated 46 defense did not allow a touchdown for the second game in a row in the playoffs. The 85 Bears have outscored their opponents 81-10 so far.

Fkn 85 Bears.  No other team could ever think of winning 41-3 when their qb throws 2 picks and for just 47 yards.

NFC Divisional Playoffs

77 Cowboys 17
66 Packers 14

It wasn't the Ice Bowl, but the Cowboys-Packers game was a thriller decided in overtime. Don Chandler missed two field goals in overtime and Efren Herrera made his lone attempt in overtime to give the 77 Cowboys a 17-14 narrow win.
Drew Pearson's 62 yard reception in overtime set up the game winning field goal.

Mike Ditka is undefeated against Tom Landry (0-2) in SuperTecmo playoff history. The Doomsday defense will have it's hands full against Walter Payton. Staubach has a career passer rating of 75 against the 46 defense.

NFC Championship

85 Bears 22
77 Cowboys 7

Mike Ditka gave the Doomsday defense a heavy dose of Walter Payton.
Walter Payton rushed 21 times for 155 yards and the 46 defense applied furious pressure on Roger Staubach all day as the Bears won 22-7.

Tony Dorsett was hammered all day at the line of scrimmage and rushed for only 6 yards on 8 carries. The 85 Bears scored a safety, visciously forced 3 fumbles, and sacked Roger Staubach 8 times and pressured him on almost every pass.

In a rematch of SuperTecmo Bowl VI, the 85 Bears will look to avenge a 30-7 whipping of the 2 time Champion 76 Raiders.
The Bears won TecmoSuper Bowl III 21-14 against the Colts and are seeking their second title.

The 76 Raiders are looking to claim SuperTecmo Bowl supremacy with a record 3rd title.

SuperTecmo Bowl IX

76 Raiders 10
85 Bears 27

Dave Duerson recovered a fumble on the games opening kick off return. The next play Walter Payton converted the turnover to 7 points as the Bears jumped out to an early lead and held on for a convincing 27-10 SuperTecmo Bowl victory.
The Bears avenged their STB VII loss to the 76 Raiders and won their second SuperTecmo Bowl championship.

Ken Stabler was held to under 100 yards passing as the 46 defense relied on it's front four to apply pressure on Stabler and the secondary played tight coverage on the Raiders receivers as they kept everything in front of them.
The Raiders missed 3 field goals which seemed to drain some momentum.

Walter Payton was injured in the opening moments of the third quarter, but Jim McMahon put the offense on his shoulders and made some good throws to convert on third downs. Walter Payton did manage to score three touchdowns in the first half and rush for 90 yards on 9 attempts before being knocked out of the game in the beginning of the third quarter.

The 46 defense also knocked out Ken Stabler out of the game in the middle of the third quarter which really was the game breaker as the Raiders tried to comeback on the ground in the second half. The 76 Raiders were shut out in the second half by one of the greatest defenses ever to step on the field.
