I thought that "Randomly Post the First Thing..." thread from Anything Goes needed an RBI counterpart for thoughts that should be posted but maybe don't deserve their own thread.
After kickball last night, I brought my NES and some games to the bar and hooked it up to the big screen (some other douchecunt team had brought Guitar Hero the week before). There was an immediate crowd of people wanting to play. I played a couple of games and then let other people play - better to spread the love and get more people fired up about RBI Baseball.
I bring this up because I was watching two people play with limited RBI Baseball experience. It was the classic Al vs. NL match-up, and one of the guys (Paul) left Pedrique in to bat. As I was about to suggest pulling his ass out immediately - BOOM, a HR over the wall in left field. I believe that's the first-ever Al Pedrique non-wallzie HR I've ever witnessed.
I was in a state of stunned silence the rest of the night.
Also, what's the proper response to someone coming over and saying "RBI Baseball? Sweet! But Bases Loaded is a better game - you can't charge the mound in RBI..." Other than punching them in the cock, I mean.
when you are playing kickball, do you imagine yourself as a lifesize RBI-guy, running off the field crying when you make an out, etc? other than the time when you are super mario, obviously

How is this RBI related?
Bob Seger is about the worst thing you can do to RBI Baseball
My buddy was a Bases Loaded fan back in the day, says he doesn't remember playing much RBI. He did say they had Tecmo Super Bowl tournaments, so he's not all bad.

I still think SF is the best team in the game.....AG 2SP.
Oh, and someone didn't know who Jim Rice was, so he kept referring to him as "Jerry Rice". I think he was kidding, but I'm not sure.
I also noticed that it takes some adjustments playing on a wide-screen TV. I was having trouble judging fly balls all night, and had a couple of times where I started to make a play on a high pop up with my IF, only to realize to my horror that it was going to get behind him and drop. Also, I've never seen pixels that big before.
well i have a question and i do not remember if i asked it before. Is there anyway to make the little rbi guys run faster?
Also is there a way to control the speed of the pitch?

No

If you press up or down on the directional pad when pitching you'll throw either a changeup or fastball.
Are RBI guys asexual like the smurfs? Are they related in any way to the smurfs? Honest question since there is no apparent display of a man unit among the RBI dudes.

Hit A and B rapidly while they're going down the line, it only works when there's one runner and they're going to first.
And playing on larger televisions is crazy, it took me a while to gauge the speed of pitches, I now refuse to play on non-square tvs.
I am still quite disappointed in my Natl tourney appearance...
I really couldnt have played worse than I did in those first three games. I think my day was over when I got thrown out at second against Beales costing me a run and the lead in my first game....it was all downhill from there.
The game is 90% mental and 50% effort or something like that.

In the spirit of players who stayed in and caused damage type games.....
This one time Gary Pettis hit a lead off homerun, and then doubled and scored vs Gantry. ;D Both balls were pulled to right field. Pettis dont need no stinking Pettis.
Tom Herr did me in with a homer, double and 2 singles for the Natester.
Speaking of Nate, he always bats Aldrete lead off, and the guy never fails to get at least a single or two each game.

Bases Loaded 3 wasn't all that bad - I had a friend with that game, and we played it quite a bit as a change of pace from RBI and Tecmo Super Bowl. The original, though, was complete ass. Fielding was horrific, and they hadn't really refined the pitching/hitting at all.

I still can not get down with this statement. Nate cubed who is as big(no pun intended)of a advocate of SF being the poop and thinks they are awesome. However even he will tell you Krukow is a stud, but Rick Reuschel(?) while still good leaves something to be desired compared to Krew Co. They are a dynamic 1-2 punch though.
Garrelts and Robinson offer some good relief as well, but a staff that has no lefty hurts em in my mind though.
2 SP
BOS/NL clearly over SF
CAL/AL/DET in push-ville vs SF
NY/MIN in uphill battle-ville vs SF
STL/HOU in loser-ville vs SF
NL can deal from the mound and has the hats for bats. Boston has the fkn bats.
AL can deal from the mound as well. Cal has some starting pitching, and huge bats. DET is always tough no matter what. Darrel Evans WHAT!
NY's staff can deal. single handedly can keep them in almost any game. a lefty side-armer....are you fkn kidding me. Orosco eats children, and shits out nursing home residents. MIN has deceptive power at times, and their staters can fkn deal as well.
STL, uh they got tudor. Houston is more dangerous in 2 SP, but scores 1.2 runs a game.

My text message tone was the the homerun sound in RBI for a few months, recently anytime GoReds was near for a TM he would say "Who hit that" to which I would respond with a players name. Roughly half of the time, I would say "Smith corks one into right, down the line... It may go. Go Crazy folks! Go Crazy!"
How'd you set it up to be that sound?
It's probably under "Ring tone settings"
I know, it sounds weird since it's a text message and not technically a ring, but it's probably within that menu.
Oh, so a similar sound--not the actual sound from the game...?
He probably "downloaded" or "sent" the sound from the game, from the internet to his phone, allowing him to set it as his text message "tone"
But, this is all speculation.
Actually, nightwulf led me to the dee-nee site that has mp3s of all the sounds of the game. On my Motorola, I can set the text message tone as an mp3.
I just changed yesterday from RBIHomerun to Homer Simpson 'WOOHOO!' Some of my friends have specific ringers to themselves which come through with TMs too.
I have the bases empty song as my ringtone & runner-on as my text. Someone actually asked me at a customer if the sound was from RBI Baseball. I said yes and he said that he just played it a few days ago. For some reason I didn't tell him about the site...
I'm Jonesin to play some curve, gonna see if I can recruit Sperling to play me. Potsie won't play anything he will lose at (curve) and Lipitz is a worthless sack of muffins who lives so far away now. Actually, Rack will likely play me on Sunday...

I have hit 4 homers with Danny Gladden and 3 homers with Steve Lombardozzi in the past 3 games I have played.
i think i just went 7-7 with doug corbett against am. he probably had about 8 rbi's including 2 inside the park home runs. probably one of the best games i can ever remember with a pitcher at the plate.

i usually play straight pitch against the computer, and i can't remember anything as embarrassing as this happening in a long time. i was set up in the middle of the rubber which is unusual, but it still stings a little.

How in the hell did Houston manage to shut out New York for 18 innings?
23 errors is very nice work.
New York is terrible... Is that the answer? Straw was having an off day at the plate til the 19th.
It was a Mookie 2 run shot then Straw added the insurance.
Ive got a set up in my living room now. One tv for watching normal things and a second smaller tv hooked only to the nintendo. After talking to TBT a couple of days ago I realized I needed to try harder and set some goals for myself. I am gonna start practicing until i am good enough to give TBT a run for his money.
Since I do not have anything going on I could start this tonight. I'm not drinking so I should be able to make clear decisions and win more than one game. It's gonna happen, i just know it.

The Indians would be the perfect team for this, since they've publicized their clubhouse RBI tourneys. You'd think Victor Martinez would be game at least once, to publicize his championship.

In Joe Posnanski's latest podcast (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/podcasts/joe_posnanski/) with Michael Schur (Ken Tremendous from the Fire Joe Morgan blog, also Mose Schrute and the creator of "Parks and Recreation"), they have a short discussion of RBI Baseball. Schur mentions that he had an NES in his office when he worked on SNL, and he estimates that they played a couple thousand games of RBI during his time there.
The Twins' tribute to retiring radio play-by-play man John Gordon (http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=19789279) ended with Dan Gladden driving him around the field in a motorcycle with a sidecar.

I was chatting with another Mets fan the other night. We couldn't get over Kirk Gibson winning MVP over Straw in 1988. Straw had 39 homers and 101 rbi's. Gibson was okay, but 25 homers and 76 rbi's don't add up to MVP. If you don't give it to Straw in 88 then Orel Hershiser should have got MVP along with his Cy Young.
Gibson seems like a weird choice, but then again that Eck homer in the WS will erase all doubts.

Queens of the Stone Age?
Actually got in a good game of RBI Baseball last night - my college roommate and his family came to visit. RBI wasn't really our game in college, as we had an SNES and played a lot of Griffey baseball, but I had the NES and not the SNES hooked up, and RBI was an easy choice.
I picked SL; he picked Dt. The connection was bad on his controller at first, which caused a bunch of button inputs and subbed out my leadoff man twice before he was able to throw a pitch (so I played sans Coleman), but otherwise the game ran well. We played slurve, not really attempting to strike each other out, and I ended up winning 6-5 in 10 innings, thanks in part to Detroit making five errors in the field.
Our eldest children were watching us play, and we let each of them take a few at-bats in the middle innings... I think that might have gotten my son a bit of fresh interest in the game, so I'm going to see if he wants to play some tomorrow night.

I'll probably just need you to lend a hand getting it up the stairs. My brother will come with me and he and I ought to be able to get it into my place on our own.
Got the arcade RBI from Gantry earlier. Took it home and plugged it in. RBI worked immediately, and after some tinkering around, I got the other side (Castlevania) to work as well. The only issue is that I can't get the sound to work on either side. But so far, two dogs in the bathtub for this acquisition.
I'm pretty sure I unplugged the speaker because it was loud as shit, don't remember the details but it shouldn't be too tough to hook up.
Found the speaker cables with some more digging. By playing around with the settings on the monitor, I was able to get the volume at a reasonable level. The only current issue is Castlevania sound effects work, but there is no music for some reason. It doesn't seem to be a dip switch setting, so I'm kind of at a loss.
That part I don't remember, could it possibly be that the arcade version didn't have music?
Also be VERY VERY VERY careful with the back of those old CRT monitors, they keep a huge charge even when unplugged for awhile.
And I think you're the one who taught me this but remember the legs are adjustable if you want to make them higher. Definitely easier to play when people are standing.
I was also thinking that castlevania might not have music, so I looked for a video of the arcade game on YouTube. It did in fact have music.
I don't plan to raise the legs. My old Golf/Excitebike unit was a stander and it felt a bit cramped.
So jealous.
Vs. Tennis has an option where you can play four players, two per screen, with the perspective changed for the appropriate team. I'm going to start looking for a Vs Tennis board that I can swap in and out as needed, because that sounds pretty awesome.
That does sound awesome and vs Tennis really wasn't a too bad of game. Board swaps are easy
Yeah, I've watched a few videos on YouTube and the board swaps are so easy that it's almost silly to NOT do them. I also read that the Vs. System was essentially a conversion of Donkey Kong and Popeye machines. I want to figure out if those are swappable PCBs as well.
I can't guarantee that all the controllers on Castlevania are good. In fact I may have swapped boards at some point so RBI was using the side with the best controllers. Been awhile, this could all be BS
Castlevania was played for a few minutes and my brother and I didn't notice any problems. If there's an issue, it's probably the second player controls.

The first thing I always think is RBI Baseball 3: playing against my brother. It's a nonspecific memory, but we played it under the same roof for about 12 years. We didn't care that we kept getting new baseball games for SNES, N64, PS2, etc... We kept going back to RBI3. Now we're adults and he has three kids, and we still play a game when we've got a few minutes when we're in the same town.
Now the music is in my head.
Good news if you're in the Twin Cities and would like to meet an RBI LEGEND: Tim Laudner will be appearing at the TwinsDaily.com Winter Meltdown event in Minneapolis (http://twinsdaily.com/_/minnesota-twins-news/about-twins-daily/twins-catcher-tim-laudner-join-twins-daily%E2%80%99s-2015-winter-meltdown-r3291). Bio said Kirk was an All-American in both baseball and football and Michigan State. That's impressive...
Does MLB players who start in college usually go there for 4 years or is it more of a bball thing? Seems like to hit the minors at 22 or so can be a major disadvantage, but then against maybe college is competitive enough.

College-level competition is good, but no match for the high minors (which the best prospects can reach by the time they'd be college juniors or seniors - Mike Trout was the best player in baseball at 20, although he's an extreme example). Generally, you get a lot more elite pitchers out of college than elite hitters, because hitting is easier to develop early.
My wife's cousin got drafted while he was in college, something like 30th round by the Reds. He decided not to sign, then had a bad season the next year and didn't get drafted again.
And is he a meth addict now? WHY WON'T YOU HELP?

Yeah that's surprising. He was a pretty good coach though right? Probably not for the Yanks though
He was a 5 time All-Star as a Yankee and had 2200 hits mostly as a Yankee 2B. Also 1980 he had a great year .427 OBP reaching base 270 times in only 138 games and 30/35 SB.

I was going to post this as well. Sounds like Ripken may have been kind of a dick.
I think it's not uncommon to have shit like that. Veterans hate rookies so much because they haven't "paid their dues" in the bigs. I don't know how many guys get their asses kicked, but I'd guess most teams have their resident rookie haters on the roster
It also seems like Stockholm Syndrome where Zaun says that was one of the best things that happened to him. Yeah, I can see how the guy really grew by getting tricked and then getting his ass kicked
I actually watched the original interview. It was on a local Toronto talk radio show that also is shown on TV. Zaun going on about how more rookies need to be taught how to behave properly and was using those examples as a means to do it. He definitely wasn't bashing on Ripken.

It was never a thing in my school - I was on the football, basketball, and track teams, and I never encountered anything more severe than the seniors making the freshmen carry their pads back to the locker room from the practice field. So I made a post on a Nintendo VS Arcade system board to see if I could swap out the Castlevania side of the machine I got from gantry for a different game. I have a verbal agreement with a dude who lives in the suburbs to switch out Castlevania for a Super Mario Brothers.
He was asking me about RBI because I told him that's the reason I had the machine and mentioned this site. He said that there are two versions of the RBI arcade machine (they have slightly different title screens) but for some reason he's never played both versions, even though he owns them both. Does anyone hear know about any different versions of arcade RBI? I'm assuming that they are pretty much identical, but I told him I'd ask.
This probably doesn't help but there is a stand up version and a cocktail type sit down version maybe that's what he was referring to?

No, he is referring to the actual boards/circuits/whatever you call them, not the form factor of the game.
I have never heard of this. Heading to a ROM site now to see if they have separate dumps...
planetemu.net has two ROM sets for Vs. Atari RBI Baseball:

Now have Super Mario Brothers in where Castlevania was. The dude who swapped me is something else. He's like shooty on collecting steroids. Has 17 arcade machines and three deloreans. He also has a huge display from a Delorean dealership in his garage.

My son challenged me to a game of RBI 3 last night. I give him some advantages - he gets to use an all-star team, and I don't pitch him too aggressively, keeping everything over the plate (he throws Anything Goes style against me).
I took the Royals, for Bonny, and my son had to get ready for bed while we were in a 6-6 tie, after he'd just tied it up on homers from Lance Parrish and Cecil Fielder in the bottom of the 6th. I had no homers, and I benefited from two unearned runs in the top of the first, when Canseco dropped a two-out fly ball, followed by a two-run double from Danny Tartabull.
I'd forgotten how little power there is in RBI 3 for non-All-Star teams - the Royals have three guys with double-digit homers (Brett, Bo Jackson, and Tartabull, and Tartabull doesn't even start), and looking through the numbers, Bo is the only one with over 800 power.

We finished the game last night. I scored three in the top of the eighth on a throwing error (SHOW NO MERCY) and a couple doubles, he tied it on a 3-run bomb by Canseco in the bottom of the ninth, I got three in the top of the 11th, capped by a 2-run homer from Bo, and I retired Canseco and McGwire with two runners on base to close it out. Royals win, 12-9.

Probably deserves a front page update, Mr. Gantry.
SBNation has a new video series called "Card Show" in which Jon Bois (one of my favorite internet people) and Ryan Nanni open a pack of old sports cards in their attempt to find the worst possible card. Jon chose 1989 Bowman, a legitimately horrible set, as his pack, so there are RBIer sightings: Tony Gwynn, Tim Teufel, and Mike Scott all make appearances.
Ryan's pack was 1990 Pro Set, which he said he chose because it looked like some el-cheapo thing you'd find in a sticker vending machine, but Pro Set were probably the best football card set of their day, so his were generally quite a bit less terrible (although still interesting).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P30pv8RfK3I
I sorted an entire case of Pro-Set football cards as a youth group fundraiser probably in 1988 (?). Great looking cards. Colossal waste of time.
Eating the old gum is such a cliche
Still remember the time I ate a stick of gum from a pack of 83 Topps in the early-to-mid 90s. Was very dry. Also remember I got a fkn Tony Gwynn rookie in said pack, I was amazed since I just assumed all convention dealers were crooked and pre-inspected all of them.
Played Saturday night with my cop friend. He got one of the mini NES for his birthday last week though it seems different than the other I played on recently. Different menu and games. The controllers were SNES style, too, which really cramped my style and caused a bunch of misplays in the field. There's probably a dozen different versions of these things, who knows.
I selected St. Louis and he took the Tigers. Much closer than it needed to be but threw a CG with Tudor and won 15-12.
Then the kids started playing Mario and I mentioned I could beat it in a few minutes so they immediately gave me the controller and I zipped right through it, with all the kids (they have four too) hooting and hollering and generally going nuts because they had never seen it done. Running under Bowser and saving the Princess was a very exciting moment.

Definitely a bootleg, but still pretty cool. My brother has a pretty cool version of this - he got a Raspberry Pi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi) with the "RetroPi" operating system, basically a controller-friendly front end with a bunch of pre-loaded emulators, which he then loaded up with a bunch of ROMs. He bought some SNES-style controllers to go with it and packed the actual system into an old NES cartridge, with the ports (2 or 3 USB and an HDMI) at the end of the cartridge that you'd plug into the NES. It's terrific.

How many lives did it take you? Not sure I've done it in one life in quite a while - I quite often die a couple times in 8-2 (which you can basically try forever because of the 1up), and I sometimes commit seppuku in 8-3 until I can make sure I get to the last castle with the fire flower, because otherwise that stupid hammer bro at the very end of the castle is a BITCH to make it past.

been playing through several user-created roms listed on the editor recently. Just played a game as Minnesota vs Cleveland from a rom called "rbi_ArcadeII Jake". Can't find it in the list right now but I know I got it from the editor. Anyway in that test game against the computer, Minnesota proceeded to commit 29 errors. Loaded the ROM in the editor and discovered that Minn's error stat is at 200 in that rom.
Also, the pitchers in that rom have 0 power and 0 speed so their ABs are kind of crazy.
Are they basically bunts?
if you hit it fair, yes. But if you foul off pitches they go screaming to the backstop then bounce back into fair territory sometimes all the way to the outfield fence.
Somehow the computer pitchers are hitting homeruns, but when they make contact you can't really tell what i happening as it looks like it should have been a foul ball based on the camera angle. Eventually it's just called a homerun.
gonna need some video

In Joe Posnanski's latest podcast (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/podcasts/joe_posnanski/) with Michael Schur (Ken Tremendous from the Fire Joe Morgan blog, also Mose Schrute and the creator of "Parks and Recreation"), they have a short discussion of RBI Baseball. Schur mentions that he had an NES in his office when he worked on SNL, and he estimates that they played a couple thousand games of RBI during his time there.
UPDATE: I submitted "What is your favorite sports video game?" as a question for their podcast this week (forgetting about this discussion six years ago, I guess), and they answered it - Schur's favorite is RBI, while Posnanski is partial to Tecmo Super Bowl. He mentioned that he and Seth Meyers played a ton of RBI in their SNL days, starting with a World Series, expanding to a World Series of World Series, and ultimately ending with a World Series of World Series of World Series, which Schur believes he won 4-2. They kept score for these games, and at Meyers' wedding, Schur presented him with the stack of papers from all their RBI Baseball games.
My question is at 1:00:55 of the podcast (https://audioboom.com/posts/6528332-poscast-hall-of-fame-listener-questions), but you should listen to the whole thing because those guys are the best.

Lead from Off With Their Heads playing RBI 3 (or is it 2?)
I don't know if there's any way to tell which it is, unless they changed the scoreboard slightly between versions. As far as I know, the in-game graphics were identical, and the only gameplay difference I can think of is that RBI 3 allows you to move slightly closer to the plate when batting, so you'd need to see player names/stats in order to tell the difference (assuming you weren't playing one of the five teams that have the same names/stats in both versions, the Tengen Team and the '89 playoff teams).

Not a ton of RBIers in this pack, but still a terrific recurring Deadspin feature.

1990 Topps, including two RBIers (I think) and some Spanky LaVallierre discussion, and it was good even though neither they nor I remembered the first two or three guys in the pack.
Potsie stopped by today as the whole dee-nee crew is hanging out in a couple hours. We just had a doozie with Mn vs the Mets, Potsie wins it 14-12 thanks in part to a home run by STEVE LOMBARDOZZI. We kept our original lineup in the first run through and he hit a dinger. Took him out the next AB, but 1-1 with one home qualifies for the RBI Records page, congrats Pots!

I went 4-4 with 4 dingers with Darryl Strawberry but it wasn't enough.
Potsie does it again with Curt Ford, page updated
I always thought you guys were bitches for playing straight pitch

Two RBIers in this week's pack, Doug DeCinces and Gantry's personal savior HARRY SPILMAN.
I don't think I'd ever heard DeCinces' name said out loud before, and they did not pronounce the "s", which surprised me.

DeCinces when?
Pretty sure I've heard it Dee-Cen-Seis
I always pronounced it "dicking gays"
I never heard the S pronounced at any time back in the day.
I can't think of Decinces without thinking Bobby Grich, and vice versa. Probably because they were both infielders for Baltimore and California.
At some point we should have a fantasy league with both sets of rosters available.

epic league with AL & NL, as well. perhaps 8 a league
Yes.
Nothing but garbage left.
I was thinking of starting a new Fantasy RBI Baseball league so it can go defunct - who is in?
i'm in - call my team Fly By Night Moves
I wasn't expecting much from Tempo's league, but I'm surprised by Darky's lack of updates.
YOU'RE WELCOME
Richard, any updates on when you'll resume action in your league?
i would enjoy playing online rbi with some of these custom romz
Straight pitch?
not against it
you freak ;)
open minds, open hearts :)

Come on Chili, you're better than that!

the quoted text seems genuine tbh. and it is probably true that players from my generation should be coached differently than those from before. cause they've already been coached differently than before
he could even be saying these things knowing he has a reputation for being a hard ass or whatever, as he hopes to find another job
I'm still sulking over the 18 inning 1-0 game I lost as NY vs MIN at the tourney this spring.
Got in a game of RBI on the plane (I brought two controllers to plug into my Surface) on the way back from a family trip to DC yesterday. My son used NA, I used MN, and I beat him 10-5, putting the game away with a pinch-hit 3-run homer from Smalley in the bottom of the 8th. I made sure to "Dih-Nih" when I brought in Larkin to pinch hit earlier in the game.
Holy shit, I'm terrible at curve... two decades of playing against mostly the CPU and not humans has left me incredibly terrible at bothering to pay attention when a pitch is a ball or strike before I swing. I have been trying to figure out whether logistics will work to get to Omaha next month, and if so, I'm gonna need a LOT of human practice.
The key to curve RBI and why I'm so awful at it - swing at EVERYTHING and be predictable when you take pitches.

The last time I thought to look at the Ks in the box score was after the 7th, at which point Ben had 14, and that was even though he spent the fourth and part of the fifth basically throwing meatballs with a gassed Fernando.
That's the other key to success at RBI - keeping your pitcher in for 1 batter too long.
yup, the one batter too long always gets me too, especially with Saberhagen. with his curveball i'm striking out like 12 through 5 innings and then he turns into Felix Heredia.
That's why even though I'm Mr. Straight Pitch I prefer only one starter - much trickier (and imo more fun) to deal with the bullpen management and throwing while fatigued.

Love it. I found that on FB a few weeks ago and posted same. I wonder what the context was. And I also wonder if this was something Carl Everett was referencing with his anti-dino diatribe.
it's from a real fake news article
I played Runs Batted In with TBT in Louisville tonight. I also had several beers and we will fill in details later.
EXCELLENT
I would've sworn I had seen that Mookie quote before on Dee-nee, but search showed me nothing

DEFECTOR HAS BROUGHT BACK REMEMBER SOME GUYS
Bill Schroeder is the only RBIer that I noticed in this edition, although I enjoyed that it was 1991 Topps, a set I remember very well.
Dale Murphy should never have been on the bench. Al Pedrique........Blasphemy
Pretty sure Dale didn't play SS. But they definately should have found a better starting SS than Al. Hubie Brooks would have been an obious choice since he was a 1986 and 1987 All-Star SS, a young Barry Larkin would have been a nice pick too.
Also just found out that shockingly Ozzie Smith was the 1987 NL Silver Slugger at SS, his only Silver Slugger win.
Barry Larkin won the next 5 and and 9 of the next 12.
Looking at the 1987 Astros, Alan Ashby led the team in OPS+ and surprisingly Glen Davis was like 6th amoung regulars, though most of the top 7 was between 104-117

Wow... outside the 8 starting position players, the team had a TOTAL of 15 home runs, one of which was hit by Nolan Ryan.
I feel like we shouldn't go a full month without a post in this forum, so I've taken care of it
ty
OK, now I have a real post:
How the hell is Frank Robinson on the bench for the Arcade Reds, I mean the starting OF is George Foster, Ken Griffey Sr., and Vada Pinson
Seen this anime, a ROM hack or something new in he style of old?
https://twitter.com/JJK_videogame/status/1751983618098925593
Gameplay looks so similar to the original that it almost has to be a ROM hack, although there is a pretty huge amount of graphical modification (including making each player look different), so hard to know for sure.
My guess is it's a hack of a later version of Family Stadium. The mappers for the original RBI couldn't handle that much variety in terms of player appearance - too much data.
